Question about citizenship and passport

Hello,

I just have a quick inquiry in regards to the citizenship and passport, there is something that I do not understand.

When you take the oath, are you given a document (citizenship certificate) that you use to apply for a passport, or do you have to apply for a citizenship certificate as well?

because based on current processing time, all of that citizenship plus citizenship certificate would take about 4 years..

You will get citizenship certificate after oath (within a week or two maximum)
You can apply for passport at passport office/service canada/through mail

This is false. In many cases it's taking well over two weeks for IRCC to even mail the certificate out, much less for it to arrive.
