Question about changing mailing address for Citizenship mail

Hi everyone,

I brought this up previously, but this originally had to do with changing my address to another Montreal city address. I plan on moving to Ontario for a job opportunity, while I keep my mailing address here in Quebec, so I do not delay my process for when I get the next information news, since I passed the Citizenship test already and had an interview. Now I wait for the next step, in 4-6 weeks from my October test day I already had, according to the Citizenship Officer.

My new question is, if I changed my mailing address on the CIC website to another address outside of Montreal, but still in Quebec, more like far northern Quebec (St Felicien), will my case be transferred? Or it doesn't matter where I change my mailing address as long as it's anywhere in Quebec province, to prevent Citizenship process and mailing delays. I already spoke with with my good friend and he will safely give me my mail if i do this.

Thanks!

As far as I know it will be a different visa office
I see, it will create delays for sure. So I should just change my mailing address to my other friend that's in Montreal, the original plan. Thanks for the input!

If you move so that where you actually live is at an address that is different than the address you have last given to CIC, the formal obligation is to notify CIC of the address where you actually live.

For a number of applicants at the stage of processing you are currently at, sure, it might be prudent to delay changing your address to avoid delaying being scheduled for the oath.

Playing games with CIC works some times.

Many times it does not.

You already have issues lurking, if not looming. A significant delay may be coming no matter what you do.

You want to focus on doing what is the right way to do things. Not the most convenient. Not what might work fastest for you. But what is the right way to do it.

The right way to do it is to notify CIC of an address change promptly.

Just to put things in perspective, remember what fraud is, fraud is giving CIC erroneous information. You give CIC an address different from the one where you are actually living, that is fraud. Sure, absolutely, scores and scores of people fudge this in one way or another, for various reasons, and get away with it. But why commit fraud in the hopes of getting away with it when all you might gain by doing so is avoiding a longer processing time? Whereas what you could lose is so much more.
