Hello guys,

I have started my full time job on the 8th of April 2013, and I am willing to apply under CEC A class. Can anyone let me know whether is it OK to send my application on the 8th of April 2014 giving that I have already collected the documents( IELTS, PCC, paystubs, T4 for 2013,.....etc) on the checklist except the CRA notice of notice of assessment. Can I include the submitted ufile as a replacement for the NOA, and for the 2014 is it ok to just include the paystubs from January to the end of match 2014. One more thing, I have asked my employer to write a reference letter and he will do so on 8th of April. Guys any recommendation from your side???

Wait two or three weeks longer, then apply. You don't want to risk refusal 6 months later for a few hours of miscalculated time.

Your tax filing doesn't replace NOA. Either wait for NOA or submit it later.

For CEC, the experience letter plays a vital role in showing your eligibility towards 1 year experience, it is always better if you get the experience letter atleast a week or two later (say dated around 20th April 2014), as the other member said, the last thing you would like to see is rejection of your application after 6 or more months for a simple lack of few hours or days of experience.

Good luck....

I would like to thank you "BigBee and thisisauser" for your replies. In my case, I am working in 40 hours per week so I think I am in the safe side, however I'll follow your advice to postpone the reference letter 2 more weeks. One more thing and I really appreciate your feedback: I have successfully submitted my tax file for 2013 on the 25th of February 2014. Do you know when I am gonna receive the notice of assessment from the CRA???

In my experience if you have filed tax online, it might take approximately 4 - 6 weeks (if everything is fine) for the notice of assessment, if it is paper filing, approximately 3 months.

The timeline might vary depending upon the refund / assessing officer and your application.

If you efile your tax return then you will get NOA in 5 business days - 1 week; and if its paper file it takes about 4-5 weeks. I got NOA in 5 days in my CRA account and I received hard copy in Mail in 8th business day.

"In my experience" ........

Please read the post correctly before commenting on it, if you get it 5 business days, great.

It would be appreciated if you have the CRA link that gives you the "official" timelines.

I got eligble on 24th feb, 2014. I got my reference letter dated 26th feb, 2014 just to avoid some miscalculation because I hardly took a week vacation (OP25a says they consider 2 weeks upto vacation). I also attached copy of my paystubs just to avoid miscalculation of hours or incase if they randomly pulls out paystubs to calculate hours. I am not saying they do this thing but you never know. Better efile you tax by mid-march and you will get your NOA by end of March or latest by end of 1st week of April.
