Question 9c photocopies of all passports and travel documents.

I have the passports but they are expired , so am confused how to answer the question.


The question is 9c Do you have all of the required photocopies? Am confused whether to say no or yes. This is because I have the copies but they are expired.

Please helped ready to post today.

question 9c is during your eligibility period, did you live outside Canada. which form are you referencing?

also i read on other threads that applications are being returned for expired passports if there is no explanation. so remember to attach an explanation if you have not renewed your passport.

I have been living in Canada since May 2013 to November 2017 have never traveled out of Canada.

I means the new updated application forms.

So do I say say YES to Question 9 C since it is expired and provide the explanation or what should I do?

What is your eligibility period? I believe your eligibility period starts from 2012 sometime? Check your physical presence calculator, that will give you your eligibility period from and to dates.

So, in your eligibility period, you *HAVE* lived outside Canada? Answer Yes (probably) or No according to your eligibility period dates. Then in your explanation letter, mention that you have been outside Canada but do not meet the requirements towards crown servant conditions.

This was mentioned by spyfy in the 1st post of FAQ thread, somehow I am not able to find that thread.

Question 9c is regardless of your passport status.

If you are concerned about your expired passport, I'd refer you to the instruction guide:

• photocopies of all valid and expired passports or travel documents you had in the past 5 years. If you don’t have these documents or there are gaps in time between travel documents, we will ask for an explanation. (you do have the document)
• if you didn’t have a passport in the past 5 years:
  • photocopies of 2 pieces of government issued identification with your name, date of birth and photograph
• if you had a passport in the past 5 years: (expired or not, is how I read this)
  • photocopies of 1 piece of government issued identification with your name, date of birth and photograph
