Hi Guys, I need some help here. I visited few countries with my parents for which I don't have any record available, what I should be doing. Is it straightforward to include a note/letter of explanation saying these travels happen a long time ago and now we don't have any evidence available, not even the exact dates of travel? Would appreciate if any one has gone through such a situation and can share what they did. I tried calling customer support center however could not connect with them after trying a couple of times.

Thanks!

You do not need to list every country that you have visited as a tourist without or without your parents in Q13. It clearly says you need to list any country where you held immigration status or citizenship. A visitor / tourist is not an immigrant whether they have visa-on-arrival status or visa-free travel.

This is the route I used for my wife and children's application. There was no issue, even though as a family we had travelled extensively before becoming immigrants.

Hey Guys!
I have confusion about the same question in terms of visitor statuses.
Do you include the visitor statuses with "Date obtained/Effective date" as start date of the visa or the date when you actually entered the country?
Also "End Date" as expiry date of the visa or date you left the country?

Another variable here is single entry and multiple entry visas.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Hey Mancunian
Did you find the answer for this query?

I too will be just providing Immigrant statuses such as student and work permits. It is ludicrous to ask for visit visas for my entire life! I have had 3 passports in my life time and traveled extensively with my father before I was even 10 years old. I don't even know where that first passport is.

IRCC has updated this page: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...bsection-5-1-adults-18-years-older.html#Step4

Question 13: Tell us if you have had immigration, permanent resident status and/or citizenship in any other country outside of Canada (e.g. your country of birth)

  • Check either yes or no.
  • If you check yes, complete the chart.
  • Tell us which countries you have held status in, and exactly what status you held or currently hold (student, employment/worker, visitor, refugee/protected person, permanent resident or citizen).
  • Date you obtained each status(YYYY-MM-DD)
  • End date if no longer valid, if applicable (YYYY-MM-DD). Leave blank if you currently hold this status

I think the visitor bit was added recently. When i took a printout of the citizenship application guide in Aug 2022, it wasnt there.

did you have any problem with not providing Visitor Visas info for Q13?

Nothing so far, i decided to leave it as is. I only traveled and passed through london and US with a visa. My friend did the same and she's just taken her citizenship test. So i think I'll be fine ISA

Guys I have been to 40 countries - I don't get it and it seems totally illogical to include all status including visa. I am lost here. What do I do. my application is ready and this question has made me super confused?

I have worked in Singapore and US and have also studied in US. So I was thinking of only including these 2 countries in the status. I don't know how to include visitor status especially for Europe when I have been to 20 countries there?

This was IRCC feedback in 2021, when one of the applicants asked this question We had to list out all the visas (Resident, Visit/Business etc) along with the citizenship, from the time we started traveling
We had multiple visit visas for Germany, Netherlands, UK, UAE, Saudi.. During our time as resident in UAE, had several travel across gulf countries where visa was on arrival as well.

IRCC would like to know all trips including visits taken within that five year eligibility period that you are claiming for your residency requirement. . On my case at one point they asked me to show them all pages of my passport. At the time of my application, I claimed the visas and stamps just for the "eligibility period".

OK - Where does it list 5 years of eligibility period?
