question 11 No address between working overseas and coming back to Canada

Hey all,

I really need help with a few things regarding q11 on the citizenship for adults application form as I cannot find an answer anywhere...

I left Canada in July 2018 and went travelling through SE Asia until December 2018 when I found a teaching job in Vietnam. I moved out of my apartment in Canada and just kept a postal address at a friends house.

1. What would I put down as my address for this gap?

The other problem is this, I worked until June 2019 on a temporary work visa in Vietnam. After I went traveling for a couple of months, then went to Germany and stayed with a friend for 3 months. I returned to Canada in September 2019.

q.11 says there should be no gaps at all so I'm not sure how to fill these gaps between leaving Canada and my place in Vietnam, and then leaving my place in Vietnam and moving to my new place when I came back to canada like 5 months later....

2. So what would I put down for this gap?

On a side note.. the job in Vietnam was screwing me over so I had to leave and they wont give me any record of payslips or taxes I paid while there... Not sure how this will affect anything.

3. could I get away with just leaving this information out and saying i was only there on holiday, or will they do a check of all the places i visited on my passport and all my stamps and visas I had while travelling?

I appreciate any advice and thanks in advance!
 
I would explain the that gap as “travelling, see letter of explanation” and then whatever you said here, detail it in a separate letter.
 
Do you think that would be fine considering it says that I must not have gaps?

Should I write "travelling, see letter of explanation" under explaination, and the "various" under city, and then the country I was in under country, then n/a under zip code... and then do that for each country I travelled in, or just list all countries I travelled in one cell from date x to date x under country in one row?


Has anyone else here done similar and been approved?
 
Yes, that’s exactly what you should do.

It means you shouldn’t have any gaps in explaining the dates. As long as you can account for or explain every day of your eligibility period, that’s all they’re after. They just want to be sure where to look when they check your background/security.

As long as you account for all your dates, there shouldn’t be any issue, even your Vietnam work conundrum.
