Hi,

I am the primary applicant and my husband is secondary. If my husband is filling the background declaration form, then in which row (1st row of applicant or 2nd row of spouse) he has to fill his details ( Place of Birth, Marital status, Present address) ?

If he fills in 2nd row as Spouse then 1st row has to be blank or my details should come in 1st row and if he fills in 1st row as Applicant then in 2nd row my name should come.

Pls clarify this.

I have received mixed responses earlier so posting this again to confirm.

In any case I think Mother, father, brother of my husband will come in his form ?

Thanks,

CanadaPR

Background schedule form must be filled by primary applicant and spouse both.
So when you are filling your husband will appear in 2nd line as spouse, when your husband is filling then he will be in first line as applicant and you will appear in 2nd line as spouse as he is declaring on this form as applicant.

If my husband fill as applicant, can it create confusion because primary applicant is me.

I think primary applicant should be consistent in the form..not sure though...

Here is a hint for you:
On both forms there is a place for sign at the end, whoever will fill his additional family form he will sign. So logically the person who is signing will be the applicant on that form.

nothing to worry, just type/ write at the top of form ' like Pri. Applicant' and on another "spouse of primary applicant", i did same

You have wrote IMM5406 form number, its not background declaration form instead its called Additional family form.
Let me try to compile here, in Background declaration form there is clear checkbox on top which you will select as primary applicant and your husband will select 2nd which is spouse.
in IMM5406 additional family form, whoever is filling his family details will be the primary applicant and the other will be the spouse.
This is my understanding and I did same. Might be someone else has any other opinion.
