My Permanent Residency has just been approved and my husband and children is living outside Canada. Is it ok for my husband to come here first before my children? I would wanted him to get and find a job first so we can earn and save while my children will finish the school year in our country and by then we will be financially ready. Or do they need to come in all together? Please advise. Thank you very much.

They will all have to land once in Canada before their medicals or passport expires (whichever is earlier) to activate their PR status and apply for PR card. The children can then return to your home country and come back whenever you want - the only requirement is that each of you spend at least 2 of the next 5 years (continuous or otherwise) in Canada to retain your PR status.

The main applicant must land first. Dependants may land any time before CoPR expiration date.

Or medicals expiration date, whichever is earlier.

Actually CIC does not issue CoPR to the date later than medical/passport expiration date.

I don't think they would issue the date just based on medical expiration, since it would be impractical. If your medical expires in 2-3 months from your VISA date, it would be too short time for any family to move.

Ideally they would ask for a new medical report.
I think a minimum of 6 month period is considered and then the expiration of medical/passport is taken into account for further period keeping 12 months as upper limit.
