Dear friends
I need information about financial support proof.

I am planning to join PhD in Queens. Its a funded project(there will be stipend enough for tuition fees/living expenses of family). In that case do I need to show funding proof or university letter is enough ? If so shall one write NA in questionary question 3 (who will sponsor etc?)

In questionary ,ther is question about naming representative,CIC web page says its not mandatory to have representative but the questionarry says it will have negative effect on decision if one fail to disclose representative, can any one clarify it ?

Thanks a lot.

Regards,
Manoj

hello

I am from Pakistan. I have recently got an admission in M.Sc program at UNIVERSITY OF TORONTO. Now i am looking forward to apply for student visa.
My father has not enough income to support my education. My real uncle wants to support me financially. The question is that is it fine that if i show my real uncle's bank statement for obtaining the student visa ? Kindly reply

Thank you

Yes it is fine but Your uncle will be your sponsor and you will need to inform the visa authorities of the same.
PLUS you will need financial documents of your uncle to support application

You must also inform if there is any consideration of him sponsoring you. If a company sponsors you, they will ask you to havbe a bond. In case of your uncle, you need to be very clear that this is not a loan and as a gift. If you say it is loan, then ur application will be weakened. Even if u say it is gift, it will sound untrue (unless u can come up with sth. really concrete)

My suggestion,
say my uncle sponsor me and in return I will work for his company/business after studies. Even this option is not that strong but you dont have many options

waisay such bolna hee best hai

Replying to the main author of this thread:

Representatives are usually law attorney or some mediating companies that help students apply study permit. You DO NOT need to have a representative if you are confident that you can do the application by yourself. Therefore that part is optional, the form is there so that the visa office knows that someone else helped you prepare this application.

And from my knowledge even if you do hire such help, some companies don't fill out that form, they prepare the application as if the applicant did it all by him/herself.

Having a representative or not will not change your case.

About the financial proof, you need to show proof of the university scholarship and it should be enough if it specifically states that you will earn a stipend enough to support yourself and family while studying in Canada. I suspect this is a Research Assistant position paid from a Professor's industry funded project. In that case, a letter from the Professor indicating that he/she will appoint you as a Research Assistant and that he/she will pay you $X for the duration of your program should be good enough. If that amount is high enough to support you and family, you will not need to submit personal financial proof.

I didn’t understand the part asking about Question 3. Do you mean Qn 3 on the Application for Study Permit? Anyway, for the question asking who will pay you study expenses, tick the ‘other box’ and provide details that your study expenses (tuition, room and board....) will be paid by a University fellowship or specifically by your supervisor if you have his/her letter indicating so.

This means that you were not able to show them that you are well settled in your country and therefore they suspect you may not return back to your country after the temp. stay in Canada.
