Query on Updating marital status

Hi all,

I’m a permanent resident of Canada since July 2018. I got married in India in March 2019. And I have landed back in Canada now. I was wondering if anyone here could guide me on how to update CIC with my marital status. Does the PR card need to be updated? Any leads will be appreciated!

They don’t care. No need to update anything with IRCC.

Really? I thought it would be important to have my marital status updated when I apply for spouse visa.

You'll update your marital status when you apply for spousal visa since you'll be required to submit a marriage certificate as part of that process.

Once you're landed, they don't care until you apply to do something else.
