Query on Student Direct Stream (SDS) - IELTS

Anyone has an idea about, whether IELTS General Scores are accepted to qualify for this program? I have applied for universities with my TOEFL scores and have IELTS General Scores.

If Academic scores are needed, then I have to take the test just to qualify for this program.

For visa applications for study permit, you can use IELTS general. It is not specified anywhere on the CIC website that IELTS academic is required. The requirement is always stated as "A valid IELTS test result".

Some universities may not accept ielts general. But for visa purposes, you are good to go.

There is a rumour that IELTS Academic module should only be used for Student Direct Stream but I got approval with IELTS General module. I confirmed with IRCC about that through there official Facebook page and they confirmed that IELTS Academic and General modules can be used for Student Direct Stream. As per IRCC tweet they accept general IELTS but the institution you are applying might not accept
