Hello everyone, I posted these question on the Student session but could not get any answer..

Just to give a brief summary of my situation: I am current working in Canada and my wife is currently in Canada too, with a TRV. As I am not eligible to get a OWP for her as my job is not skilled, I am waiting to hear back from 2 different programs that I applied for, so I can get my study permit along with her OWP.

I am very positive this will work, so I am preparing everything in advance.
And I have some questions, hopefully someone can help me:

1)On the Online Application, the checklist provided asked for Family Member Proof of Status (remembering that I am applying and she is my dependent). Does that mean that I just have to provide a copy of her visitor visa? Or do I also have to submit the last stamp she got when entering?

2)On the form to change conditions from worker to student (my form), there is the following question:

In addition to a study permit, are you also applying for a work permit?
What type of working permit are you applying for?

Do I have to answer yes for that or is it already inferred that with the new rules, I am able to work off campus without a work permit?

The options provided on the form are: a) co-op work permit, b)open work permit and c)pgwp

Please, I am really confused here..

hello cocoduro,

Based on what you're saying, it seems that you're more preoccupied about continuing to work than being a student. In fact, it seems you're only considering changing your status from worker to student so you can work off-campus and also get your wife a Spousal Open Work Permit. Nice try!

If I was able to read your intentions, CIC will too (you're potentially a disingenuous student who just wants to take advantage of the "working" privilege). I hope CIC does their job.

I respect your opinion but, unfortunately, your affirmations are not correct.
By the way, thank you for wishing that my process fail.. you have a terrible soul, I feel bad for you!
