Could you please provide the timeline?

When did your file reach CSQ office? and when did midi charged money from your credit card??

Thanks
mine is not charged yet either, it was received 24 May
My Card was actually charged on 15 Feb 2019. Receipt had 15 Feb 2019 date on it. They had posted MIDI's AOR, Receipt Page and small CC Machine receipt (client copy) - stapled on top - on 18th Feb 2019. I received it from MIDI on 20th Feb 2019 by post in brown envelope. AOR Envelope look something like this:

You can check the rest of my Timeline here.

when filling the form A0520-BF, does the sponsored person have to give the information about spouse in section 3.1? similarly, when filling the form A0546, does the sponsor have to give the information about spouse in section 2?
I'm in the same case and dont find a clear answer for this question in this forum .....my case is my candian citizen wife is sponsoring me(huspend) and no children of cosigner......... so she will let section 2 blank and fill out section 3 ...please anyone confirm that to me....thanks in advance
{Form A0520-BF}
No! Section 3.1 is for couple who are immigrating together. This form is to be filled by PA, not SPR. So, questions are being asked from PA. Since I answered "NO" in 2.1 and 2.2, I had to skip 3.1 and move onto 3.2. It also state on the side note that:

Code:
If you are the spouse
of your sponsor,
answer questions 2.1 and 2.2,
then go to 3.2.
You have to follow form according to IF, THEN, ELSE.

{Form A0546-GF}
No! It clearly state "(s’il y a lieu)" - meaning "(where applicable)". It is for couple who are co-signing together to sponsor family member. In spousal sponsorship application, there are NO CO-SIGNERS. Hence, I left it blank.

Hope it Helps!

I am in the process of filling out exactly this form as well and can't wrap my head around section 2.

[...] Je cohabite et je vis maritalement avec la personne qui me parraine depuis le XXX

Is that the day we moved in together or became common-in-law/married?

Thanks a lot!

So my csq was received on the 25 May, still I have not had my money debited from credit card. All details were correct so it’s not a problem with the card. It’s been 3 weeks.
Someone that has sent there’s 3 days after me has had their money debited. Doesn’t anyone know why this coulda be! It’s really stressing me out if I am going to be able to meet the deadline I wasn’t given...

There's no way your package was received on the 25th since it was a Saturday and MIDI doesn't work on Saturdays, so count from the 27th. It's only been 15 working days, it should come soon
Oh and an advice for this and all other processes: no application is like another, each case is different and no news is good news, if something was wrong, you would have heard by now. You can see people completing the whole sponsorship process in 6 months but that doesn't mean yours will be the same

Hi,

I am trying to use the payment by Credit card form to pay the fees for the undertaking application, I am confused as to what to fill for " Requerant principal (personne qui fait la demande)" [Principal Applicant(Person who is making the request)].

Is it the Sponsor or the Person being Sponsored (Person applying for CSQ) that I have to write in this section?

@wasiqjaved , What did you do? I assume your CSQ application went through successfully.

I am the sponsor, my wife is the person being sponsored. We dont have any dependants.

Thanks for your answer

In case of married, it's the date you signed marriage contract.

In case of common-law, it's the day you become common-law (one year after living together)

IRCC and MIDI have same definition.

Requerant principal is the principal applicant, which in your case is your wife.
Your name goes on the field below where you fill the credit card details

Don't stress about it too much. Everyone's timeline is different. Not every caseworker is same or efficient either. You may contact MIDI via phone and find out if everything is going smooth or not.

Yes. Already done with process.

French : Requérant principal (personne qui fait la demande)
(Il est obligatoire de fournir les coordonnées du requérant principal s’il n’est pas le titulaire de la carte de crédit.)

English : Principal applicant (person making the application)
(The contact information for the principal applicant must be provided if he or she is not the credit card holder.)

Final Verdict : If Cardholder is Sponsor, then PA's name will come here. If cardholder is PA, then you can leave this field blank.

Alternate Options: You can always opt for other payment options, such as Canada Post Money Order, Bank Draft or cheque (additional charges of CA$7.50). This option will make sure your payment is guaranteed to pe paid and there's no fear of Credit Card being declined.

This is my guess on this:

In case of Bank draft etc...it is written in the guide to write the name of the Sponsor behind the draft in Block letters. Check the English guide. The Application we are making is the Undertaking Application. The person making this application is the Sponsor. So he is the "principal applicant" here. The Credit card payment form is generic. It is not only for the sponsorship. In various other generic applications dealt by the MIDI there is no IRCC defined PA (sponsered person) being involved. So I think here by Principal Applicant they meant the person who signs the checklist and arranges and submits the application. IRCC PA is clearly defined. But MIDI just happened to use the same wording here by Coincidence.

It makes sense to me...it is just misuse of the word principal applicant here by mistake. The CSQ is just a secondary thing happening here. But the main deal is undertaking application which is made by the sponsor.

U could have used your friends credit card to pay the fee if needed...but inorder to identify the application ...you need to provide the Sponsors name so they can link the payment to the application. Even if the form is displaced from the file or something. This section is only to avoid such problems from happening. But as long as your paper was in the file...the payment will happen normally. Which is what I think why your payment went through. If the paper flew away and they try to link it to the Sponsored persons name... There is a chance it wouldnt have worked.

I understand the thing...but I am afraid to take a chance of making a mistake here if my theory is wrong So I will just take a Canadapost money. Order and write the Sponsors name behind it in block letters.

No. You're just overthinking ... and you may end up messing up with signatures on wrong forms. How have you filled the actual forms? If we go by your logic, you must have filled entire application package in a wrong way and PA's name will end up in forms to be the one sponsoring. We have gone through this process already and have read guides and Operational Manuals thoroughly. Principal Applicant is Principal Applicant - in both Federal and MIDI. Not sure which guide you're looking at, but here's what Cheques and Bank Drafts should have:

  1. Payable to Minister of Finance of Québec
  2. Must write Principal Applicant's full name in BLOCK LETTERS on the back of the cheque
Source

The person applying for CSQ is Principal Applicant, not Sponsor. Sponsor is just giving an undertaking for 3 years and will be bound by it - regardless of current relationship's situation in future. This application will remain PA's application - not Sponsor's. MIDI don't care who is arranging or posting application. Document Checklist A-1520-BF is going to be signed by Sponsor - that same Sponsor mentioned in Federal Forms and Application. In many countries, sponsors do submit application on behalf of principal applicant, but application itself will remain principal applicant's application.

U could have used your friends credit card to pay the fee if needed...but inorder to identify the application ...you need to provide the Sponsors name so they can link the payment to the application. Do remember that if you make mistake even on Canada Post Money Order, your application can be returned unprocessed. Take advice of people who have gone through this process already.

You can literally use anyone's Credit Card. What they want is name of Principal Applicant (that same PA in Federal) whose file they are going to process and subsequently issue CSQ. Risk with Credit Card payments is that if payment is declined for whatever reason, they will return application unprocessed by mail. With Bank Drafts, Cheques, etc. they will simply process payment, as long as PA's name is written at the back of it.

If all of this is still confusing, call MIDI and get their first hand advice on this issue.

I think you are reading it wrong. can you read french? N’oubliez pas d'inscrire au dos du chèque, le nom du demandeur

le demandeur in this case is the sponsor, the one making the request to sponsor the P-A,not the other way around.THey call the whole process demande dengagement and not CSQ application.THey are looking at it from the point of view of the sponsor and not the person being sponsored.

anyways, I did it by paying with credit card and writing my name(sponsor) as demandeur and so far we have gotten aor telling us they will process my partner certificate soon and charged to the credit card already.

Alright, so here are the two official versions.

English version from official source : Remember to print the applicant’s name in block letters on the back of the cheque.

French version from official source : N’oubliez pas d'inscrire au dos du chèque, le nom du demandeur en caractères d’imprimerie.

I've sent query to MIDI. As soon as I get response, will update here.
