Quebec Sponsorship for Dakar Visa office

Anyone from dakar visa office who is sponsored or sponsoring? Please share your time lines.

Submitted application to sponsor on June 9.
Part 1A: CIC approved my application on Aug 1st
Part 1 B: Quebec Goverment issued QSC for my wife and daughter on Aug 29th. copy of QSC sent to dakar by

I have no idea how long am gonna wait to be reunited again with my family in Canada. I know processing time is about 25 months but on average most of the people I know reunited with their families after 10 months from the time the application was approved by CIC.

This waiting game is destroying my nerves.

This is not true, why can I not read any post from applicants whose visa office is dakar,
Dakar is the visa office of many countries and it is amongst the slowest in processing visa.

I'm going through Dakar as well. I looked at an old thread and what I noticed was, it seems there is a 1 year period where nothing happens. But when it goes in process, I saw people finished 5 months after.
My timeline is:
submitted application to sponsor - Jan 8th
Approved to sponsor - Feb 12th

Given the above, I am hoping my application goes in process by end of Feb 2015 and hopefully, we will get decision made shortly after. In the meantime, I will be visiting my spouse end of year and will send more relationship proof after my trip.

Definitely, I want to believe you live in the province of Quebec, I learned it goes a little faster for Quebec applicants, did you check your e-CAS status,
I submitted June this year,
- application has been received and medical has been received,
check to find out if the has been updates.

I know the Quebec government has a different immigration need and procedures. The province chooses who she allows to settle and work in Quebec. For example, I immigrated to Canada as a quebec skilled worker with area of competence being chemistry in July 2013. A friend of mind who applied as a federal skilled work with the same academic background (infact we have gone to same schools, lived in the same town), whose application was sent at approximately the same time as mind was only given a visa last June.

Well I do not forget the fact that other factors may count but if you read the immigration policy of Canada u will see that every province and program of immigration is complex. And the federal gov and provicial gov;ts have different criteria in selecting immigrants.

By the way, last week Dakar asked for a certified copy of our marriage certificate. Sounds like they have began reviewing our application. Hopefully, we'll hear something soon. Meanwhile, there is no update on ecas.

I am not with Dakar Visa Office but my cousin is. I know that 2 of her friends got the visa after 12 months exactely.They both applied in august 2013 and landed in Montreal in august 2014.
My cousin applied in July and nothing yet.

@Novermber 2013 - did your cousin's friends get an update on their ecas at all? Or did it just go from "application received" to "decision made"? Thanks.

Hey People, Our representative laywer said that as our file has been sent to the VO and that it will take time to start processing, we could still gather some fresh proofs(documents,letters,emails,phone bills...etc) and send them to the Dakar VO to keep our file update.

What you guuys think about that, is that a good idea? our files can be misplace??

Unfortunately they never used the ecas... they are not really into computer :-[

I don't think it's a bad idea, particularly if your lawyer is recommending it, but it's up to you to decide. If you decide to send more proof, please have your lawyer reviews everything before sending.

I'm also thinking of sending more proof after my trip(boarding passes, photos, call log, emails/letters) but will discuss it with our lawyer first.
