1. According to the consultants whom I approached for advice on Quebec Skilled Worker Program, your occupation needs to be in the occupation demand list in Quebec in order to get qualified or to get nominated for Quebec Skilled Worker Program. Is this true?

2. Secondly, I had completed graduation in Aug 2011 and 5 years period will be completed in Aug 2016. I have read on the Quebec website that one should have at least 1 year of experience related to degree if it's been more than 5 years since graduation date.

Is this condition applicable before making an application or before receiving nomination?
(Because if it is applicable in the later case and I don't get nomination before Aug 2016, I'd need 1 year exp. related to my education which I am not having.)

1. Not necessary. If your occupation is not in the "Areas of Training" list you cannot claim points for that.
2. https://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/immigrate-settle/permanent-workers/requirements-programs/glossary.html#work-experience
Work experience

Recognized experience
The work experience by a skilled worker candidate must have been acquired:
in the five years preceding the date of submission of an application for a selection certificate
in an occupation with a skill level above “D” as defined by the National Occupational Classification (NOC)
legally in the country concerned.

The following experience, which respects the aforementioned conditions, is recognized:

experience that was acquired full time or part time in remunerated jobs
full-time or part-time work internships as part of an apprenticeship, training or specialization recognized by a diploma, both remunerated and non-remunerated.

Thanks a lot!

I saw the (2) point mentioned on a third party site but now checked on Quebec site, this condition is no longer now as of Jan 2016 changes.

Can you help me in finding relevant area of training for "Bachelor of Technology - Biotechnology"? I checked this list but couldn't find the exact degree.
