I got my CSQ in April, 2016 and I applied with CIC for PR in February, 2017. My application was received in February, 2017 and I received AOR in March, 2017 then my application went into processing in April, 2017 according to my ECAS portal.

I did an upfront medical which expired in December, 2017.

Well, in January, 2018 I was again contacted by CIC for re-medical, PCCs, updated Schedule A and Travel History after January, 2017 till date. That I re-submitted to CIC. In February, 2018, CIC sent me pre-arrival information and the very next day they asked for Schedule A and Travel History pre-January, 2017 (which I had already submitted to them). Since then its a complete silence and my 14-month timeline has started (its the 14th). Then I contacted London Visa Office and they said

"Background checks are currently ongoing on your file. This can, on occasion, be a lengthy process. We will further process the application when favourable results have been received. Unfortunately we are not in a position to expedite them or give you a time frame for completion at this time.
Please rest assured that, once this step has been completed, we will be in touch with any updates or further requests. We appreciate your patience during this process."

My GCkey and ECAS both shows that background checks are in process. I am a bit worried now, is it not unusual they everything is done and still background is in process. Can someone suggest, what to do with this situation except waiting?

Anybody knows if Lacolle immigration office is open 24h?
I'm planning to go there tomorrow and trying to figure out the best time. I will be with 2 kids.
Thanks!

Yes it's open 24/7. Try to go either early in the morning or late at night to avoid traffic.

I will post the question again, are the inland applicants required to provide updated police certificate from their home country if the first one passed one year ?
Generally not but they may ask if they see a need. It really depends on your file and your visa officer. If he sees a need he will ask for new PCC.

Finally! After waiting for one long month ,we received the passports with the Canadian visa stamped in them issued from ACCRA, GHANA. We are planning to do the landing this month. I have a daughter that is studying in Montreal . And right now, she can't return back to our home country because she is entitled to end-of-term courses. My question is : is it possible that she can do the landing after us from inside Canada through the US border even though if she obtained her visa from outside Canada? Will she need a US visa? If yes, how long will take to be issued and whats the procedure? I will be really thankful if anyone would share his experiences with me.

Thanks.

Congratulations buddy... Can u pls tell us your timeline....

I wonder how long does the background check takes. it changed into BGIP as of march 7th

I went to the border and did the flag polling thing today, it was quick and the border guys were very friendly. You just need to tell the US border security that you wish to become a pr and they will give you a piece of paper, so you could turn right back to the Canadian side, and after stating your intention, you will be waiting inside the room and it takes around 20 minutes in total, Good luck guys, I guess I am finally graduated from this PR thing.
Lot of Congrats

I know nothing about Express Entry, but if you get a closed work permit and you get laid off, you will be able to stay in Canada legally and look for another job. Just don't leave the country at that point, because if you don't have the job that goes with the work permit anymore, they may refuse re-entry on that work permit.
@mriekje Thank you

Hi all,

I know I have been asking this question frequently but I'm being a little bit worried.

My application for the PR arrived to Sydney in mid December 2017 and yet there is no AOR. People who submitted their applications in December received AOR already..

Should I give them a call?
