Hey ramboo , if you're an inland applicant I believe this should be last steps before get DM .

Just In case , if your GCKey still showing "Action Required"my advice upload it through the portal as well the documentation.

You can see my signature and see how long it took after submitting PCC and BGdeclaration . Hope you hear good news this week .
Hi Andy,

Thanks for your reply. Yours Inland Application..??

I filed my PR (sent my applications to Nova Scotia, Sydney, Canada) when i was at Canada during 2016-17. After returning back home (India), requested for change of address (Residential) address to India. My Residential address got changes when i happen to see it at Online PR status (link). I think, my application has been processing in Canada. Not sure though.

I use to get a mail from CPC-Ottawa for sharing the updated details like IMM5669, PCC like this. In case if my case has been processing in Canada then, i might get update soon. Else it might take time..??

Hi All, I need your help & suggestion ****its urgent****

I have employed specific work permit valid till 2019, but my contract is getting over shortly. My employer is telling me to leave Canada after this contract ends. As I have valid CSQ and my PR application is currently being processed with CIC. ( hopefully I may get my PR in 2-3 months)

I am planning to quit my job, so my question is can I stay in Montreal until I find new job or until I get my PR ?????

current work permit will allow me to stay in Montreal legally???,

Please advise......

1) You're legally in Canada, regardless of what the boss saying. You should just stop working for specific employer and start applying for new one, in that case you'll need to change the conditions "Employer" and obtain a new work permit. In case you not planning to apply and just wait for a decision for PR, make sure just change your conditions from worker to visitor 30 days before work permit expires.

2) Keep in my mind work permit isn't a travel document, in case you gonna travel overseas, you'll need a TRV with you.

Btw whats your timeline ?

Thanks andy000,
My timeline is as follows:
PR application submitted on 19th July 2017
AOR Received on 3rd Oct 2017
Application processed on 3rd Oct 2017
Medical Request received on 14th Feb 2018
Medical Passed on 27th Feb 2018
Waiting for PPR/DM

You mean I can legally stay in Montreal with current closed workpermit (valid upto 2019, though I no longer work for that company) until I get my PR or incase if I found new job, I need to apply new workpermit for that company.... Right ?

Is my employer able to cancel my workpermit ???

Hi!
I've recently been in the same situation where I lost my job due to lack of funding (I'm in academic research). As long as your work permit is valid, you can legally stay in the country after your contract ends. HOWEVER. You can not work for another employer before getting a new work permit (which you can easily obtain with a valid job offer and your CSQ -you are exempt from LMIA). Also, I'd recommend not going abroad, because you will probably lose your work permit when you come back (since you no longer hold the job you got it for. But as long as you stay here, you're OK.

Your employer can NOT cancel your work permit, despite what they may say.
