Hi Guys,

Just want to say thank you for all the advise. This forum is a great help.

Application sent: Sept 28, 2016
Received DM: Oct 05, 2017
PPR : Oct 12, 2017
Send passport with photos: Oct 17, 2017
Received passport: November 14, 2017
Call for appointment in immigration: November 15, 2017
Appointment date: Nov 22, 2017

Yesterday, we've done our PR landing at 9:30 AM in immigration office near Bonaventure metro. It only took around 10 mins. They just asked for CSQ, confirmation of PR (which is the paper included in the shipment when they return the passport) and another photo. She did not asked any other documents. They just ask if you have criminal record. Explain the PR obligations and benefits then said congratulations.. After that, we processed our SIN in service canada and ramq. Then submit new SIN to our bank and hr dept in our work.

Its a long process but definitely worth it. Now I am excited to apply for citizenship after 2 more years. See you all there in citizenship forum after 2 years! :)
Congrats!!

Just one week to have an appointment..definitely the route i would chose.

For those who got PPR, did you receive an email from CIC saying "Your file has been updated?" Or you just received the PPR email itself?

Yes, we did not expected it to be that fast. Mostly in this forum they said it will take like several weeks. We do not have a car yet and its a long queue as well in the border. This is the most convenient route if you dont have a car and dont want to wait. I almost forgot they also ask for RPRF receipt and of course the passport. They just double checked if the name and DOB is correct with the confirmation letter.

Goodluck to you..

We just received a PPR email saying you need to send your passports and 2 recent photos with the instruction how to send it.

This is first time for me in this form I want to ask about the time it take to finishing the background check and got the design made

My statuse was changed to we are processing your background check in 5/11/2017 when I expecting my dm? Thanks

Currently Ottawa is taking 13+ months. The officially announced processing time for Quebec Skilled workers is 14 months from the date of application. So you should be able to estimate based on when you submitted, and then add 13-14 months to it (also varies a lot due to such factors as whether you are a regular or PEQ QSW applicant, nationality, anything specific about your background etc.). You can refer to this spreadsheet for very specific timelines from people from this forum and do add yours as well https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...tDsYtVajswDvHYTUiEFlFM1b28/edit#gid=736440819

I have had that message about background check on my account since February, and I am currently almost 13 months from the date of application. So it doesn't really mean anything :p
