Hi,I have obtained my csq on august 2016.i have sent my PR application to nova scotia in September 2016 but no response come till date. So I am worried :o

Hi @mandy13,

From the table-list that I will continue to recommend all of you to keep updated, you can see in the column APP-AOR the number of days elapsed since the Application was Filed (APP) and the reception of the Acknowledge of Reception (AOR).

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/11kdzo2tA_6HiILyuHtDsYtVajswDvHYTUiEFlFM1b28/edit#gid=736440819

This table is for what I believe are Inland Applicants, and the number of days varies. For those that applied in November of 2015 it was +/-120 days (4 months) but for those that applied in December 2015 was less (around 90 days - 3 months), and later in early 2016 (January) it was like 60 days (2 months). We can see almost like a tendency in the elapsed time between APP and AOR to be reduced from November 2015 to March 2016 (info from the table).
Then there are some few cases of June 2016 and the elapsed time is increased again (like 130 days - a little bit more than 4 months). This means (for me) that the CIC agents work like in batches and there is no way of guessing, except if the sample (I mean information in the table) is bigger. That is, more people give their dates or fill the table.
All this analysis is based on a very reduced sample, after all, is just the information from the table and there are exceptions.

So, in response to your question, there is no fixed number (sorry). In the worst scenario after the analysis I did, 135 days have been the highest number of days waited for anybody in that table (that will put you in receiving the AOR I think in January, add 135 days to your September and you will have an estimate). I hope you receive any news soon.

Hi,

I am not aware of any laws prohibiting you from applying for Canadian PR if you have a green card. However, you will not be able to keep your PR in Canada in the long run if you are not there. You need to live in Canada for 2 of every 5 years to retain permanent residence status.

If you do not mind my asking, is there any particular reason you want to Canadian PR if you plan to live in the US? As you can see, the PR paperwork is long and requires a lot of effort, seems too much of a hassle if you are not planning on staying in Canada. Maybe there are other permits that better suit your needs.

Thank You, Im from Mexico,I applayed on Mexico City, for the police certificate they asked me for the mexican police certificate wich I asked for it when CIC asked for me and sent me a letter that was needed to obtain the police certificate in Mexico, and they also asked me for the police certificate of United States (FBI) becouse I lived there for a year, that one I asked for it before CIC requested it becouse for getting the bfi certificate you need to wait 2 months

Thanks Eddie!

I've heard good things about Mexico VO, and I am glad to see they worked efficiently on your application. Well, I am an inland applicant, so the Canadian Embassy in Mexico will have to ask for the police certificate. I only hope the guys from PGR do not take too long!

Good luck arriving in Canada!

Hi mandy13

As per the current trend an applicant is getting the AOR in 90 working days from the date of receipt of the application.

Further more you can have the info about working days.

Hi Guys,

Today I just received my passport with a counterfoil page, the COPR & some sort of instruction guide.

About 3 weeks ago I received my passport request so when I gone to the VAC. I been informed that the VAC in Jeddah-Saudi Arabia do not communicate with Abu Dhabi VO and that I should communicate with Riyadh VO. And ask them to process my passport. So I did so and they sent me a latter to send in my passport and I did through VAC in Jeddah.

First, I wish & I am very optimistic that you all will hear good news soon. I applied a single application in Mid July 2015 and received my PPR in late December 2016.

Secondly, should I inform Abu Dhabi visa office my passport being processed at Riyadh? or would they realize that them self?

Finally, did any of you guys consider preparation to land in Canada? Like for example the money matter. How can I transfer money to Canada & how much should I bring with me? How much budget should I but in mind?

Congratulations! I am really happy for you. Weren't you with a lawyer? Regarding money, I was advised by almost everyone to bring as much as I can. You can open a Canadian bank account and transfer your money or ask a relative to transfer it to you while being in Canada.
