So, why not all do this then, but instead most applicants wait until the VO requests the MR?

Perhaps because COPR landing expiry date is usually dated one year from your medical exam? Some people need as much time as possible to wrap up affairs before emigrating.

Contacting NDVO to ask a simple question like that won't help you. On the CIC website it is strictly printed out that Limit the number of times you send them inquiries about your file, until when it is actually necessary.

You must submit Police certificates as well as medicals for ALL members of your family, whether accompanying you now or later on in your life. And these PCCs must come from EACH country where you have lived for over 6 months in a ROW. Therefore your wife ABSOLUTELY needs to submit her own PCC.

Good luck. I am still behind you in the process though!

Stylove, how r u buddy.
not sure about the number of inquiries, but I think asking this is necessary for me.
Also I have read somewhere that Canadian pcc is not required unless they specifically ask you to do so.

Ideally they don't ask Canadian PCCs but i have read on this same forum more than once some cases who have been asked to submit.....one guy said he was on a tourist visa in canada for over 6 months and then left...he was asked to submit... Can't figure out the thread its been ages though. All the same my main point was.....you have to submit pccs for all members of your family.

Happy Sunday guys,
Just to say I was requested to courier a certified copy of my birth cert to my VO on 21/9 which I did that same day by DHL.
Then on checking my E-cas yesterday 3/10 I saw Decision Made!!!
Not sure of what to expect next but hope it's a +ve one.
Good luck to us all
The journey continues

Hello,

I graduated from Quebec university and got my CSQ under PEQ program.

Then I sent my federal application in Canada in July 2015 to the office in Nova Scotia and I haven't heard back from them since.

I tried checking my application status through CIC website but nothing shows up.

Is this normal? What process should I expect next? Would they send me an email to notify me that the application status is now available to check online?

Please reply as soon as possible because Im beginning to get worried...

Thanks a lot in advnace and good luck on your applications

Have you checked the processing times?

In general, if you don't receive an AOR after 3 months, call. Until then, don't worry too much (I know it's hard! :( ).

The processing time is on the website only says it'll take 15 months in ottawa office (I'm guessing it means the entire process) but there's nothing about the office in nova scotia..

Okay so in general, it takes 3 months. Is there anyway I can do medical exam in advance? I just need to get PR as soon as possible for a personal reason.

Thanks again!

WHOA!!

I did NOT say processing takes 3 months. I'm saying wait at least 3 months for an AOR (Acknowledgement of receipt) of your application, before worrying.

NS does not process applications. If you are in Canada, your application would be processed in Ottawa, so yes, as you've seen, around 15 months.

Yes you can do an upfront medical. HOWEVER, the medical is only valid for 12 months. If you do it now, you risk it expiring & needing to do another (= more $$$).

In conclusion, it's highly unlikely you can speed up the process for whatever reason, personal or otherwise.

Oh I see. I misunderstood.

Thank you very much for your help and reply.

Hey guys, how you all doing?

Its been a month since I got my AOR. I hear that for the people living in Montreal it usually takes about 2 months to get medical request. Did anybody experience a longer period to get the MR?

Peace

Its depends on each individual case. I have seen people living in Montreal getting Medicals the same day as AOR, or after a couple of weeks/months after AOR. In my case, it has been 3 months and 10 days since AOR and I have not received my medicals yet.

Thanks subtain. So you're in Montreal too? I was hoping to get MR soon, but you've been waiting longer than me. Lets keep up with the patience.
