Hi all,

I am new here. I am preparing to apply for Quebec. I completed Bachelor Of Engineering in Computer Science. I have 3 years of experience as Web Developer. On reference letter can i put hob title as Web Developer or Software Engineer. Is there any priority for software engineer than web developer. Please help me. I don't know about these things :(

Hi Luc22, have you found anything new in this matter? i.e. Have you found out if one has to leave the Canada if they quit the job and haven't yet found a new one and they have received the AOR for the PR application from CIC. As I said earlier I'm at this stage and am still waiting to quit my job. I've sent an email to CIC asking the same question, but I'm not sure if they will even reply to my email because of their privacy policies regarding email communication. Did your immigration lawyer advise you anything in this regard? I can't get any immigration lawyer to answer my question, because they say they won't as I did my application on my own and not through them.
Hi Nomad0042
I contacted CIC and got a reply that for Quebec applicants (QSW), Open work permit after AOR is not permitted although the eligibility questionnaire on CIC gives you the option for Open work permit BUT in reality it is not the case.
I advise you to not quit your job, however you don't have to leave Canada if you have to leave your job IF you have a visitor visa (TRV) .. I extended our temporary visas to be on the safe side while waiting for PR and searching for a job.

Yes, I've renewed my closed work permit and got a new TRV until 2017. I'll wait for some reply from CIC to my query and then will make decision on my job. Thanks for the advice. Did you contact them via email? If so how soon do they reply? The automated response said 30 working days, but how long is it in practice?

YES Faith06 .. Usually the Passport Request takes up to 2 or 3 month ..
In my situation it took ONLY 2 weeks .. they were super fast with me, even for the visa, they told me in Visa Office that I will receive it in 1 month, but I just received it in 2 days LOL :P
So yes prepare yourself to see CANADA visa on your Passport SOON! ;) ;D

Peace

Finally I got my GCMS notes. Apparently my "criminality check" is in progress since June 26th 2015.

Breakdown of my stages is:

Eligibility Assessment: Not Started
Security: Not Started
Criminality: In Progress (Since June 26th 2015)
RCMP Screening: Completed (No Reportable Trace)
Medicals: Not Started
Biographic: Completed (NRT)

I know the time required for these stages vary on individual basis. But does anyone, who also got their GCMS notes know how long it took for them to pass any of the above mentioned stages. (provided they have passed those stages yet)

Thanks,

- Subtain

Thanks Subtain for sharing GCMS notes,, How long it took you to get this report ? have you submitted police clearance upfront ?
It is good to know that "criminality check" started right after AOR.. by the way , we have similar AOR dates.
I will definitely make a request for GCMS very soon.
Good luck
