He received AOR in Nov 2016. His application was actually "On hold" by CIC for some reason.

at the first time , was it the post graduated open work permit or they just gave you an open work permit for nothing? because usually the bridge work permit is JUST FOR ONE YEAR during your waiting for the final decision.

they gave me for nothing. I did not study here. I only sent them my CSQ.

iam stuck there , i applied since november 2016 , had my medical passed on april 2017

and since that no update , they didnt start our background check , i dont know what they are doing

It could be possible that MyCIC is not updated correctly.

For ex - For me,

MyCIC shows "We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements." for Review of eligibility since AOR ( 27th Jan)

But

GCMS from 2nd June showed my Eligibility review had not started.

You submitted application in May 2017 and got AOR just few days back. Wait for few months before asking such questions.
