Received back Passport and CPR ( confirmation of permanent residency), it has taken two weeks to get Passport back, the entry validity is 12 months from medical examination date.

Patience is really worth on the entire process and this forum for me, given me an idea about the time line for each step in entire process, especially for me who has not approached any consultant.

Thank you fellow applicants and seniors who share valuable points over here and wishing everybody success on their attempts.

I received my gcms notes yesterday.

In the end its written "Appears RFV" since July 2016, does anyone know what that means?

It means your file is ready for visa. U should expect to hear soon from CIC hopefully. BTW what is your assignment due date and current location of your file which u can find on 2nd or 3rd page in gcms notes?

I dont think this matters.. They simply dont care , dates are misleading.

Mine was 2016/11/01. The due date is mainly for internal use only. Don't keep your hopes up.

I sent the app to Sydney but got the request from CPC Ottawa.In fact, all the communication is from cpc ottawa.

Can anyone please help to advise me on how to fill in Additional Family Information (IMM 5406)? Earlier we thought that we only needed to fill in 1 copy. It turns out we were wrong, and our application got returned. They said we'll need to fill another form for me, as spouse. Can you please guide if my husband is main applicant, in my copy of this form IMM5406, Section A, Applicant row, should I write my name or my husband name?

The form http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5406E.PDF needs to be filled by the main applicant and the spouse.

Main Applicant Copy

Section A

1st row applicant name = Main Applicant Name
2nd row Spouse Name = Spouse name

Section B

Children Info if Any

Family Members Info of main Applicant




Spouse Copy

1st row applicant name = Spouse name
2nd row Spouse Name = Main Applicant Name


Section B

Children Info if Any

Family Members Info of Spouse
