Guys, i wanted to ask you when you saw the number of forms that needed to be submitted for the immigration process what went through your mind? How did you feel? I personally felt a bit sad and a bit discouraged because some of the documentation required is really difficult to acquire like for example letters from your previous employers? how the hell is one supposed to track down previous employers especially in a big city? Also regarding documents like birth certificate do they need to be translated in english and french?

It is hard to convince the visa officer with beginner level French. The AOR probably doesn't mean much. Hong Kong office has been pounded by the back log of applications from Damascus. While they're working hard to turn the apps. around it might take some time.

Regarding the work experience for Quebec, they ask for at least one year of non-cumulative work experience in the past five years. Have just received my certificate so it is accurate information ;-).
As you have to send a complete CV, I think they also take into account the experience acquired before the 5 years.

Back when I was doing it, I thought it was a lot of information and actually it took me months to get all the information together. I could have done it faster I guess but all the addresses I had lived, all the different places I had worked, all associations and clubs I had belonged to and when, it's crazy. Where I am from, pretty much every working person is in a union so every job I'd had over school holidays also came with a union to belong to. I am sure I did not have documentation for all my employers. Do you need that now? Not just for the jobs you are claiming points for? My homeland issues birth certificate in English if you ask for it so that was not a problem for me. For most things in Canada, you need things to either be in English or French, not both. I got letters from my employers I was claiming points for in English and my degree I got translated by an official translator.
