I don't think summer or not summer matters too much. Sure there will be more people on vacations during summer but that means your application might be slightly delayed, it will still be ahead of the ones that come in the fall.

If you change your address while your application is being processed, you need to contact the visa office and tell them. I do believe they prefer a real address over a PO box.

Chinaconnection;

Saw your PM and responded, let me know if you didn't get it.

Unik:

I found this which lists private schools in Ottawa:

http://www.ottawa.com/learn/main_e.shtml

and there is also a private (non-subsidized) English school in Quebec about 50km east of Gatineau (don't know if that's too far)

No problem, you should also know that most private schools at the elementary level are also unsubsidized (for instance in Montreal) so your child would qualify for them without a Certificate of Eligibility for Instruction in English as well.

Italki:

Leon's right about summer, you'd still be ahead of the Fall applicants. That's good reasoning. The only reason I brought it up is because that whole first summer when I filed it felt like it was taking forever and I was told at my interview that things slow down a bit in summertime. It's just if I had known that, I would have moved a little faster and filed sooner.

Can everyone who has been accepted into Quebec give me a little background on themselves? (Age, occupation, knowledge of french, number of years working full time) I just would like to estimate my chances by looking at other people lives and backgrounds
If you dont like to share those info in public you can send me a pvt message

I will tell you a bit about myself
-I am 26 years old
-I have dual citizenship (Italian and Australian)
-Completed university in 2005 (I have a bachelor of Arts and a graduate diploma of education)
-Have worked in a call centre for 2 years and right now i work in administration in a university (it has been almost 1 year)
-Have done french for 8 years in school including 1 year of advanced french at university, however i need to practice my speaking part
as it s very rusty given that i never get to practice it
-I have travelled around the world 3 times (visited 15 countries)
-Have always looked after myself, moved out of home at 18 and supported myself ever since

Considering all those factors, in your opinion what are the chances of being accepted when i apply for PR?

You need a minimum of 5 years work experience to be considered for a Quebec selection. Whether or not you have travelled the whole world, it doesn't matter, also whether you have a dual nationality, tht doesn't count. Your age is ok. But your work experience i'm not sure

But hey! Edgy555 posted a link for you to see all the requirements for quebec skilled work class, just go there and read it.

For federal skilled worker class, if ur occupation is in the 38 list, then fine, you need only one year of work experience in your field, but if ur occupation is not on the list, forget it.

Someone should correct me if i am wrong.

Where is it written that you need 5 years work experience?
I never saw that anywhere. Where did you read that?

I think you misunderstood what that page is saying
It is merely asking to send any documentation regarding your last 5 years of work (that is if you have done 5 years, if you have less you just send what you have) It does not say anywhere on the website or the application that only people who have 5 years experience can apply for quebec

The only part on the website regarding who can apply is this

"To be selected as an immigrant worker, you must have the schooling and occupational skills to facilitate your job integration. Other factors, such as language, age, your spouse's profile and whether or not you have children are also important"

To be selected as an immigrant worker, you must have:

hold at least one diploma that corresponds, in the Québec education system, to a Secondary School Diploma or a Diploma of Vocational Studies
acquired training and occupational skills that will facilitate your insertion into the job market
have adequate knowledge of French. If in doubt, we strongly recommend that you check your level of French with a recognized organization. Knowledge of English is also an asset not to be overlooked. You can take courses or acquire more experience in order to upgrade your occupational or language skills

Can someone confirm this?

If you think they don't need a 5 years experience Good luck then to you and those who have half a year experience.

If i understood you, you are in Autrallia right? if yes then you will file your application at Hongkong office and the link i sent to you is directly from the Hongkong office website. So take time and go through it, there is no need to ask someone to confirm all that you have written in bold.

thanks

Why Hong Kong? I thought applications from Australia go through Sydney

Also from what i understand, if you Know/Speak french and you can prove it with an official certificate

they really don't care about your work experience.

There is no Quebec Delegation in Sydney,Just a Canadian Consulate,But you are applying to the Quebec Nation right???So Do you apply at a French Embassy if you want to Immigrate to Germany. You apply at Quebec Delegations to immigrate to Quebec not Canadian Embassies
