Hi All,

I am an MBA...and the quebec preferred occupation list specifies 'Business Management (DCS - 3 years)'. Is MBA covered under this??

Waiting for your response.

Regards,
Shahi

Seniors plz help me on this...

Shahi

It depends what is your job description and duties, if you have the same duties which is required by quebec then certainly you can qualify for it.

The Diploma of College Studies (or DEC, from the French Diplôme d'études collégiales) is issued by the province of Quebec, Canada at the completion of post-secondary studies at a CEGEP or a private college. The diploma is awarded for two types of programs: two years of pre-university studies or three years of vocational (technical) studies.

please match yours with this definition. i think yours is covered as you have to meet the second program requirements i.e 3 years. how long is your MBA?

Angel mine is 2yrs full time MBA from university..

Shahi

yes i think yours is covered. as DCS is for college studies, and your MBA is from University. and you must have definitely done pre-university studies i.e. your bachelors.

also you have sent your application, so chill friend :) no worries, everything will be good :)

Hey Angel,
Thanks for your answer and encouragement.

Shahi

Hi,

Just an observation. I saw Business management(DCS 3 years) in Quebec 2009 list...getting 12 points and in the same list we have Business Administration (Bach. - 3 years)...getting only 6 points!

Now my observation is that first one is for Post graduate degree...and the second one is a graduate degree. I hope an MBA would fall under the first one..

Quebec applicants please share your opinion, if any.

Regards,
Shahi

hi, if your education and work experience is not in the list, does that mean you cannot apply as skilled worker in Quebec?

i'm an electronics engineer with >8years experience and i tried the online assessment in the Quebec site and i passed (just need to make my french to intermediate level) where i selected electronics and communications engineering as my line of work.

Hi,

This list only gives a list of occupations which will be processed with priority.. If you pass online evaluation..then Your good to apply. no issues with that..

Shahi
