Guys,

I have few concerns.

1- Do I need to be a member of any body to practice my profession. I did not find any reference for professional of IT Networks with Computer Science as bachelors.
2- Do I have to obtain a comparative evaluation for my degree obtained outside Qubec ?
3- At any stage, do i have to go for OQLF exam to practice a given profession ?

Regards,
NR

Do I apply to the old rule or the new rule?

Submit file on Dec 12, 2012
Received file number on Feb 14, 2013
Require more documents on Aug 7, 2013

by August 1, 2013, I have received these two documents from Ministère:

- an acknowledgement confirming that your file has been opened and the fees received;
- an acknowledgement as well as a letter asking you to provide missing documents or conforming documents in order to process your application.

But I also received (letter dated Aug 7, 2013)
- You received a letter entitled “Intention de refus” (intent to refuse the application), informing you that you must submit other documents or information that will allow us to continue to review your file;

Because it stated that on August 1, 2013 if I receive an "Intention de refuse". So I guess I am with the new rules......

I felt like they just put my file aside because I only have A2. After Aug 2, 2013 they start to process my file because they knew I would have to follow the new rules.

The new measures apply to you if, by August 1, 2013, you received one of the following documents from the Ministère:

an acknowledgement confirming that your file has been opened and the fees received;
an acknowledgement as well as a letter asking you to provide missing documents or conforming documents in order to process your application.

If, on August 1, 2013, you were in one of the situations described below, it means that your file has already being processed. Therefore, the new measures do not apply to you.

You were convened to a selection interview that will take place in the next few weeks or months;
You received a letter entitled “Demande en attente d’entrevue de selection” (application pending a selection interview) informing you that the initial evaluation of your application is complete and that you will soon be convened to an interview;
You received a letter entitled “Demande en attente de decision” (application pending a decision) informing you that we will contact you once a decision has been made;
You received a letter entitled “Intention de refus” (intent to refuse the application), informing you that you must submit other documents or information that will allow us to continue to review your file;
You have already had a selection interview and your file has not been finalized.

U have to call immigration quebec and ask why is there a delay. since u submitted in june 2013, it should not be that long as compared to those who submitted after august 2013.

Hi... i have noticed in your timeline that you have been waiting for your aor more than five months now, considering the fact that you are an aot priority, don't you think it is also high time for you to contact the immigration and inquire about the status of your application? I've seen some forum members having the same timeline as yours in other forums who have got their aor's already.

I actually called them 3 times and the answer is the same, that it is opened but the draft is not yet processed so they cannot issue an AOR. Unless ur a Haiyan victim which I am not then ur AOR will be faster.

Seems like your bank draft is near expiring, however you still have one month to go...lets wait and see ...if you happened to notice bosschips and robinsonwalts timeline in the other forum, they have the same timeline as yours, submitted oct 2013 and both received each other's aor in jan 2014, both weren't haiyan victim too. I just don't have any idea whether paying via credit card or bank draft matter on the process, i mean if it's really paying via bank draft causes the delay, i've paid via bank draft too and i am afraid if that will be the case mine might expire too without having my aor.

I have a question. I applied for CSQ in Nov 2013, expecting AOR within a month. The question is I had sent a demand draft for the amount to be paid.
I have heard that the validity of demand draft is only for 3 months. And these guys taking time for AOR is 4-6 months. So will my DD expire? I come to know from Bank that DD still not encashed. and yet to have response from bank about the validity period of DD with dollar amount. Now it has been already 5 months passed, will my DD get expired? or international DD with mentioning canada branch within the DD has validity of more than 3 months?

I dont know, my draft was made by my agency in montreal by a canadian bank. I found out that canadian drafts dont expire so I dont know what's causing the delay. I am hoping that before april ends I will have my AOR.

Hi,

My draft has a validity of six months. You can contact directly to the bank to inquire about expiry before you begin worry. If they found it expired already, you can renew it but it may delay for processing your application.
