Just came across following piece of information which is quite a relief at least for people
under Quebec investor program.

Important notice – Immigrant Investor Program

The Ministère de l’Immigration et des communautés culturelles (MICC) du Québec has taken note of the federal government’s intention to abolish its immigrant investor and entrepreneur programs. However, Citizenship and Immigration Canada has confirmed that the Ministère’s Immigrant Investor Program and Immigration Entrepreneur Program will not be affected by this decision. Moreover, Citizenship and Immigration Canada has also confirmed that the Ministère will be consulted on future regulatory changes in order to ensure that competencies in Québec are respected. The announcement on February 11, 2014 does not affect the programs in Québec.

Hope there are no changes and we all get through, though really feeling very bad for
Federal investor & Entrepreneur program guys.

Want to share my timeline.

Jan 2008 : Applied for 'Quebec Investor Program' in Islamabad, Pakistan

Jun 2010 : CIC kept on requesting my wife's security clearance documents from Libya because of her previous residency. But, Libyan government wasn't very helpful. Sent numerous letters (with some having "tracking") and Libyan government just didn't care to even say that we can't help you!

Dec 2010 : Was invited to Canadian Embassy in Syria for Interview. (Went really well)

Apr 2011 : Was told that application case file getting transferred to London, England

Jun 2012 : Was told that Libyan documents requested earlier not required anymore due to civil war in Libya.

Oct 2012 : Medical Received & Given by all dependents

Apr 2014 : Received Medical Again. Given by all dependents

May 2014 : Main Applicant received letter by post. Saying that I need to do ECG (current status). Went to Medical center and they said that they haven't received any letter yet from CIC. So, currently waiting!

What do you think are the chances now? Any ideas or comments would be well appreciated! I've also heard that in Feb 2014, they terminated Federal Investor and Business visa programs. Does this affect my application in any way?

[P.S. My entire interview (in Syria) was conducted in French and I was told that I do not need to submit any documents to prove my proficiency in French language]

Hi XpressEnterprise,

You are almost through and suggest that google and find out email id
of your VO or there is always online request to all VO available on MICC
website and write to them and ask them about it.

Don't delay anything coz at times these things have time limit to submit
or you can call MICC office and you can get their contact details on the
following link

Qubec investor files are not cancelled but federal ones are cancelled.

Once again do whatever you have to quickly so that you don't loose this
diamond opportunity.

Thank you for your generous response. As you said, I tried calling MICC at number mentioned here : bit.ly/1lYAS5T . Lady said that after getting CSQ, it's all up to my case worker now. It's out of their hands now.

After bit of googling, I found this link : bit.ly/1nwQXRq

So, I selected Pakistan and then London as VO (for PR applications), and then it took me to some CIC London's page : bit.ly/1jZMenn

Afterwards, I selected 'Case specific' in Enquiry section : bit.ly/RfyA8L

And filled form accordingly. Now, waiting for their reply.

Btw, thanks a million for your reply Vizsagar. I've also read somewhere (bit.ly/1jA7jcp) that after Medical Exam is done, last stage is "Security Clearance" where each applicant undergo security checks & background screening to ensure he is not criminally inadmissible.

Is it true that the more countries you have lived or visited in, it would take more time in security clearance to come. Because I've been to many countries all of my life (probably around somewhere between 50 to 75). Moreover, for Visa Officer to grant applicant permanent residency status visa, medical exam must not be expiring within 4 months. Is that the reason of second medical?

I won't have any medical inadmissibility (bit.ly/1lH9W9q) issue because healthwise, I am fine and get my checkups regularly.

Hi There,

No worries buddy and hope that something positive happens for you asap.
Please note that visa offices take very long time to reply at times around 20 to 30 days
to reply to your mail.

As far as I know there shouldn't be any letter coming to doctor to do the ECG again but
you should just do the ECG with the listed doctors and let the doctor send the reports to
VO directly but I may be wrong as well. Which is your VO office by the way.

Security again can take a bit of time for certain countries at a time. Travelling is not a problem
but if you have stayed in a country for more than six months then you need to provide
clearance from those countries and it is clearly mentioned it he PCC paperwork.

Yeah! I got email stating that it may take 20 - 30 days to reply (or they may not even reply if they think it's not important)

The problem with Pakistan is that they have made IOM Migration Health Assessment Center (only 3 branches in Pakistan) for Immigration cases for Canada, UK, Australia, etc. DMPS were eliminated since 10th Oct 2012. You have to pass through IOM system now to have your medicals done (via appointments only) and only they can refer to other doctors.

Well, one of my dependant (in UK) went for his medical. But, was given main applicant's (mine) report requesting 'recent report from Cardiologist' (all related to ECG, such as cardiac stress, nuclear, exercise, etc). I've contacted IOC Medical Centre in Pakistan. They still haven't received any directives from CIC. I'm surprised that I'd received document telling me what tests to be conducted from UK (by my dependant), but not from Pakistan.

By VO Office, do you mean Visa Office handling my case? Sorry, but I'm not sure what VO means. Anyways, It's in London. All PR related cases from Pakistan are handled in London. All medical exams done in Pakistan are transferred to New Delhi Embassy. (The ECG medical letters I got at my residential address in Pakistan was sent from New Delhi's Embassy)

Yeah, I've already given police clearance certificates from all the countries. One of my dependant is already living in Canada for the past 4 years and they also needed police clearance certificate from Canada.

Yes I am also in Quebec Investor Category and my file is currently in Abu Dhabi Visa Office (VO)
since almost 9 months or so but no news at all after that. I had applied in October 2010 and just
waiting and waiting and waiting.

God only knows when it will happen as I have invested lot of money but waiting without knowing
what is going to happen is really difficult and very tense moments.

Anyways all the best to you buddy and pray to god that we all get through asap.

Keep us posted on this forum about your development and god willing everything will
be ok.

My issue is weird. I received letter from Canadian High Commission (in New Delhi, India) that they require extra ECG exams. I emailed same letter to IOM Migration Health Assessment Center in Lahore. They are clueless and say that it's not showing in our system.

Anyways, they've asked me to come on 10th June 2014. So, lets see what happens. I've got 90 days to provide ECG reports.
