No, I didn't try that. You will need to receive the COPR first, and then make an appointment if you wish to do so. My impression from what was written on the COPR is that it might take a few weeks before they give an appointment. They specifically said if you need an appointment in less than 2 months because the immigrant visa expiry date, you should specify that in the email. So for them, 2 months is urgent processing!
