Hi Sheena21,

I sent my application to the montreal address, which is the one everyone sends to for CSQ approval/denial. After thier decision is when you send it to country offices, in my case I would send it to Buffalo for the permanent residency application.

NewHomeAlberta,

I am not sure if I can fully answer your question but I can tell you that I have a bachelors in Biochemistry(which is amongst the preferred areas of training). I got the degree from a US university, and I am currently pursuing a masters in environmental science. I applied for CSQ after october 14, and so far my application is being processed as one of the areas of preferred trainings.
Hope that helps a bit.

Amina
Hi Sheena21,
Is it required to submit IELTS score to establish English proficiency eventhough degrees are from US? Or sending a letter stating your qualification is sufficient enough? Any thought on this.

Thanks again for your reply and it is helpful.

Hi NewHome_Alberta ,

To demonstrate language ability, many immigration applicants submit a written English document with their application. However, an application that relies solely on a written submission may take longer to be processed than one that is submitted with IELTS results. Because the IELTS results are independent and verifiable, the visa officer will accept these results as determinate and will be able to conclude language ability more quickly. IELTS results are considered the only conclusive proof of English language proficiency.

However, if you choose not to take a test, you have to submit the written explanation and documentation which include;

* a written submission explaining your training in English
* an explanation of how you commonly use English
* official documentation of education in English
* official documentation of work experience in English

But again, not providing IELTS result may take longer to be processed.

Hi Everyone,
I sent my application to Quebec on Nov 12, I live in the US. I am an accountant/director of reimbursement. I don't know if they will process my application based on accounting or finance. All my studies was in French in Lebanon untill 2000. I am cunfused about my french now, I almost forgot all my french since i have not use it for almost 9 years. I have some certificates go back to 1996 and 2000 that i passed Level 3 in French. But i don't know. I sent my application and hope for the best.

I have MBA in finance and i have been working here in the us for about 5 years. that was my proof of English.

Any progress with anybody?

Good luck for every body

Hi everybody!

We have received our AOR yesterday, dated 05 November 2009. And we are now patiently waiting for our file to be completely reviewed.

Ive one question in mind, please enlighten us:
If ever the time comes that the file will be rejected because of lack of French knowledge, can one candidate send proof of French language if he/she had taken the French course while waiting for the result of the review of file?

Thank you so much=)

Hi moee,

From my understanding, it could be 2 years OR its equivalent 1,800 hours. And yes, you should be getting points in Areas of Training.

Seniors, please correct me if I'm wrong=)
