Hi francaise,

Thanks for evaluating my profile....but my consultant said that as i did Computer science Engineering....i will get extra 4 points as the skill is in demand in Quebec. So it adds 4 points and for Financial Funds it adds 1 more point. and for french beginners level Its 4 Points i guess... so can i reach 49 considering all these points or you think my consultant is bluffing me?

please let me know asap.
Thanks,
Krishna

If not all but most of the Consultants are saying anything that they feel will full their pockets.
Yes if your degree is computer engineering 4 years degree then you get 10 points and if you have at least 6 months related exp, then 6 points for Area of training. And if you mean by begginer french A1 then it has 2 points.

God bless

please let me know asap.

is it true that students cant apply for Quebec? i am a PhD student, got Master's in 2008, is there anything in immigration law that prevents me from applying?

one more thing, i have a business which is a share of small restaurant, should i mention this in my CV, and how can i prove this?? would it give me more points or it would decrease my points?

Hey Mansoor,

The MICC has just upgraded the mission for E.Africa and the one in Nairobi will take place betwwen Nov 21 and Dec 2. Since you are in E. Africa i guess we are in the same batch. I am yet to recieve an letter from BIQ Paris wether its a direct CSQ or interview, But from the look of things seems i will have to go through an interview. Anyway still praying and crossing my fingers. Thanks for the Quebec telephone number I am giving them up to end of sept before making a call early october if i dont get any communication. My last AOR was dated 14 April 2011 hence its currently five months since. Thanks and wishing you the best and please lets stay in touch.
Hi Babake,

Even i saw that status in the morning and i have the same feeling which u had said... i believe this mission is coming for us becoz we r also verge of completion....
I m very sure we shall get the CSQ in Nov. INSHALLAH...

Keep me posted if any progress.

Mansoor

I just hope this is the right place:

Most Dear Anyone-With-Information-and-Experience

I am 30 years old and married, I have a B.Sc. in Statistics, and an M.Sc. in Modelling and Management of Risk. I have about 18 months of work experience (2 part-time positions held concurrently – Credit Risk Analyst and Financial Consultant). My English is perfect and I meet the financial self sufficiency requirement. I am currently studying for a M.Sc. in Financial Mathematics. My wife is 31 and has a B.Sc. in Agricultural Engineering and in 6 months she will obtain her M.Sc. degree. Her English level is at IELTS 6.0 and her French is at A1 (though she has not taken a exam). She also has two sisters living in Montreal QC, one of which is a permanent resident and the other has her CSQ.
I calculated that I will get 12 for “Level of Education”, 12 for “Area Training”, 4 for “Experience”, 16 for “Age”, 6 for “English”, 3 for “Family in Quebec” (through spouse's sister), and 1 for “Financial Self Sufficiency”. My wife will get 3 for “Level of Education”, 3 for “Age”, and 1 for “Language Proficiency”. Altogether, it will be 61, So even without me knowing French we should get by, at least theoretically, as we would only need 2 points from adaptability.
PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG ANYWHERE ABOVE.
We submitted an application for Quebec Immigration – Skilled Worker programme about 3 months ago and on August 23rd we got our file number. I wanted to fill in the forms at level 2 for both listening and speaking which would have gotten us up to 63 points in which case we would not have needed any points from adaptability. At the time when we were filling in the forms, most of our friend and family told us that if we fill less than level 4 (listening and writing) we would not be accepted, therefore, against my own judgement and conscience, I marked the spots for LEVEL 4 which I assume correspond to level A2.
Now, my concern is that my schedule absolutely does not allow me to get to Level A2 in 6-9 months which I assume would be the expected time-frame before our interview. I have signed up for French classes at “Institut Français d'Ecosse”, which is tied to the Government of France and is the only decent institute in our city (Edinburgh – UK). But in 3 10-week terms (Oct to Dec, Jan to Mar, Apr to Jun) I would only get to finish level A1 at best.
Now, I am very worried and I do not know what to do. Should I inform the immigration authority of this change or not or is there anything at all that I can do? I do not want such a stupid thing to ruin our chances and our future. If you could kindly advice us on this matter, I would appreciate it a lot.

Thank You & Regards
Siavash

hey guys, just so im clear... how exactly is the quebec skilled worker program different from the federal skilled worker? i know that with the quebec program, you have to show intent to reside in quebec but application wise, how are the two programs different especially when it comes to areas of training and experience?

thank :)

knowledge of french is the most basic criteria for Quebec,,,, pls note that french certificate (A1, A2,DELF, TCF,TEF,etc) is not necessary for Quebec, however the main intention of interview is to evaluate your level of french n ofcourse your knowledge about quebec etc... your friends r right, if you do not mark your level of french high enough your chance of getting reject for Q will be high.... just keep in mind that w.o. french you are eligible for federal and not quebec
