I really appreciate all the help some senior members in the forum are giving to the people on this page.

I need to clarify some things for Quebec immigration.

I did an evaluation on Quebec immigration site.

and found that I am meeting Quebec immigration points if I select:
1. English - Highest level. (I have not done IELTS, but all my Education + Work Experience is in English).
2. French - Beginner level. (Have to start French course).

Can someone help me plan for Quebec:

Age: 3216 points
Status: Married
Qualification:
Masters- MCA (Master of Computer Applications - 3 years course) passed out in 200512 + 6
Bachelors- BSc (Mathematics, Statistics, Physics - 3 years course)
Work Experience: 5 years 6 months in Software Industry in Bangalore (India)8 points
Language Proficiency:
English- Have not given IELTS 6 points if you provide any proof that u have good english
French- Have to enroll in French coursestart learning 0 points at the movement
Spouse:
Qualification- Master of Arts in Psychology (MA passed out in 2009 - 2 years course)3
Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (BA passed out in 2007 - 3 years course)
Age- 24 3
Language- No IELTS, No French
Financial Self-Sufficiency: Have enough funds.1 points

These are my questions:
1. To claim English points is it necessary to give IELTS, I have done all my education and work exp in English provide documentry proof .
2. To claim French points can I submit my application saying I have enrolled in French course and submit proofs of the same u can send your application now but u can update your file in later stage.
3. Have not children, expecting one in Dec :), can add points for it later u can update points later stage?

Thanks,
QC

dear friend, i plan to land in October 2011. i will need 6weeks to conclude my exit procedure from my place of work and i will initiate that immediately i come back from Accra with my Visa. i av booked flight for september 5th.....
as per my job, yeah i av done lots of research,on the average, i get a minimum of 4 job vacancies in my field every day!!! 8) but the truth is i will av to undergo some training and pass some exams b4 i can be admitted to practice as a chemist...... so i guess i av lots of work to do.... :( :(
i av set my self a target of 9-12months to get done with all formalities....
so the truth is, i dont think i will be able to practice in my profession immediately i land cos of the above reason and also bcos i do not av Canadian experience. but whatever way i am determined to make it work

@ STILLHOPE

Thanks a lot buddy.

One thing is bothering me.....

As of now I am getting 55 points (against required 57 for married couple).
You mentioned that I can get points later for French and Child (due in December), so if I understand correctly what you are saying is that once i get AOR i would need to supplement my application with these details?

Thanks,
QC

Hi stillhope

I completed Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration finance in june 2005. It was a full time two year course. Will it have the same weightage as masters degree as per quebec norms

How many points will I claim for my education and training?

Thnks

Hi stillhope

In India it is equivalent to a masters degree..is post graduate diploma (after graduation full time 2 yrs) equivalent to a masters degree in quebec

hi niravk,

problem is that its not very clearly defined. for all purposes a PGD is equivalent to a masters degree only difference being masters issued by a univ and a PGD issued by an autonomous inst.

for immigration related procedures, degrees issued by 'universities' are what counts. because its easier to rely on universities which mostly hv standarised courses than autonomous institutes which vary too much in standards.

i hv the same prob so to be in the safer side, i didnot count the PGDM as a masters degree, but included all teh documents anyways. if i get points for it, great. if not, tant pis ! :) I'm trying to make up the points with other parameters.
