THE other important thing is :
she asked me what do i know about NEW RULES and do i mean by it :
i said of course main thing is B2 is the starting level to count points, and here was her answer:
What was your level , i told her A2, and then ::::::::::::
She said the old rules said that the minimum level to start counting is B1 !! and that was on the website and i should have seen it !!
come on for god sake ! was she Joking with me or what ?!!!

guys !

this is what i got today from lady on the phone :

she didn't know anything about time between file number and FILE UNDER PROCESSING, she believed that processing is just directly after File number !

That's somehow a good news although it is different that what alexy nathan said .

THE other important thing is :

My advice on this, is that her last sentence invalidates everything she said.

I am sorry to say that, but reading last few comments in this forum, I have to say: I told you. They will simply apply the rules to tens of thousands of applications still between AOR and Preliminary Processing (which only comes months - if not years - later than AOR, and is quickly followed by refusal letter, interview letter or waiver). The idea is very similar to what happened to FSW 2008 applicants. They want to change the rules, and they do not want to wait 2-3 years to empty the queue before they can apply them. It is just a bonus, that they can reduce the backlog at the same time, and limit new applications to 20.000 / year. Well done, I would say, if I could not have expected a potential waiver before this... :(

OH! I'm sorry for being off-topic, I just want to share this with someone... I totally forgot about points for Quebec diploma or equivalent! So I was calculating my points and getting all upset about the new rules... But if they won't remove points for Quebec diploma (it gives you 6 points right now, correct?) I'm getting 56 points even without any points for my TEFAQ A2/A2 French results...

So I might still have a chance... jeez... sorry again, this just gives me so much hope!...

OSZI....

Quebec are different, they respect applicants,
50,000 applicants they will disolve between 8 million popullation
also quebec didnt agree for new immigration rules to federal.

but does any one know that in quebec french schools are free while english schools are private 18000$/year

so immigratnts who have kids will be very hard to adapt, so they want B2 level applicants

i know what you mean and i understand it well .. and i hope it is not true ..

but by the way she didnt beleive there is time between AOR and processing, processing is automatically startin after AOR.

Also, i guess she meant Experince Quebecoise, as i found there that minimum should be B1 ..

You're right! This might be something! Maybe she just mixed up her information... or maybe she thought you file is under Programme de l’expérience québécoise, which is, by the way, the top priority under the new upcoming rules...

I also hope it is not true, even if most of the facts, and Call Center experiences tell the opposite...

You know what they say: "Hope for the best, but expect the worst..."

Oh, thank you very much for this clarification. I hope we will hear something soon as well.
I've submitted TEFAQ A2/A2 scores along with my application, hoping it will get me 6 points for French.
How about you? Did you submit French results?
No, I did not claim any points for french. My spouse and I are just learning French at AF. We are completing an intensive course this week.

Good luck to you! I spent only three months learning basic French with help of Michel Thomas method (you can google him) and was able to get A2 in oral comprehension and A2 in oral expression. The exam was the first time I spoke to anybody in French. What I'm trying to say is – it's pretty easy to get basic level if you know English.

But B2 seems much harder...

Thanks I googled the method and it seems quite interesting, similar to pimsleur but seems more natural. How did you access it. Seems like I would have to order it from Amazon. There is an app but it is not available in my country store.
