No, it just says you have to meet both cutoffs to be called for an interview i.e. if you have 49 points overall (interview threshold) BUT you don't meet the employability cutoff, your application will be eliminated, and viceversa.

It works in the same way in other fields, for instance, AOT cutoff= 6 points, even if you reach 55 points overall, your application will be rejected if your area of training doesn't give any points.

And finally, you have to reach 55 points in order to receive the CSQ.

4.2.2 Requirements to the stage of preliminary examination
Under Article 7 of RSRE, the DCS of a skilled worker applicant subject to a preliminary examination according to the factors set the grid for selecting candidates for this subcategory, except for the Adaptability factor. At this point, the score goes to the candidate from the information on the DCS.
The candidate must meet the following requirements to qualify:
• get at least 2 points criteria's Education Training factor, ie minimally hold a high school diploma or vocational (SEE IPG 3-1, Section 3.3.1.1);
• meet the cutoff score for employability. The threshold that applies at this stage is:
- 42 points for a single applicant;
- 50 points for an applicant with his spouse or common-law partner.
This threshold applies to factors Training, Experience, Age, Languages, Stay and family in Quebec, Validated employment offer and, where appropriate, features of a spouse or de facto spouse who accompanies.
• satisfy s euil crossing the stage of preliminary examination. The threshold that applies at this stage is:
- A minimum of 49 points for a single applicant;
- A minimum of 57 points for an applicant with his spouse or common-law partner.
All factors are taken into account at the stage of preliminary examination, except Factor daptabilité.

i hope english translation would help better according to me it clear shows that at the 42 points you can put the file and according to this pera it clear shows that except adiptibility point you should reach 42 points
it means your point + adptibility should reach 49 points for csq
what you think ??

30/05/2016 Montréal, and became PR
Hi Razaqng,
I am a littlele worried about the credit card rejecction. I also used Debit VISA card for payment. Later my banker issued new VISA cards to all clients to replace the former cards for security reasons. I then filled a new payment form with new card details and sent to BIQ Paris with an explanatory letter. I have sufficient funds to cover the $1o3o fees for my family and I. What are my chances? Can you please share with me the reasons for rejection? And have you been given the opportunity to pay using a different method, say certified cheque OR has your file been rejected and sent back to you? I am also NOC 1122 and my application was delivered to BIQ on 3rd February 2012 and still to receive AOR.

Thanks for your reponse.

if you had applied before dec 2011 you could do that, but if still not yet applied i think you can not claim language points..

haste makes waste !

dont waste your money by jumping into applying now. if you're so confident about french, then appear for a french test asap. since you expect to get 1 point for english, i assume that you're a little weak in it - so enroll yourself for some IELTS crash course and prepare for IELTS. wait till you get atleast 6 months experience and then apply.

i recall there was someone else in this thread who applied without having 6 months of experience. i dont remember the exact outcome, but i think it was returned. and in ur case, the BIQ chaps themselves are telling you that you're ineligible. plan well. all the best.

i have to get a total of 55 in order to get my CSQ because i'm single. i have 32 points untill now but when i will pass the TCF or TEFaq i'm sure i will get the 16 points as french is my second language and for the Ielts i will get at least 1 points so it will become 32+16+1=49. in addition to that, when i will get 6 months experience i can claim 4 points. so the total before interview will be 53.
Are you sure i can send them the results after? can you detail more please?

Actually, they told me that they have reached the limit and no one can apply now untill 31 march 2013 unless he is currently in Quebec.
As for my application, i'm totally agree with all of you, it's more wise to wait till i pass the tests and have some experience, but at same time it's possible that i won't have the right to apply by then since there's a lot of changes lately, and it's unlikely the 14300 limit won't be reached 6 or 7 months from now.

My understanding of the current QSW application states that one must submit application with certificate of exams for which one intends to claim point, if your are to claim points for French then you will need to submit a minimum of A1 result and you can take other level of French exams to get more point before or by the time of your interview. So without any French certificate at the time of submission implies you don't intend to claim any point for French which might affect your chances.

Cheers
Read the above quote from my earlier post. In my opinion TCFQ is the easiest French Test and it is strictly meant for Quebec.

Cheers

Hello All,

My husband and I have decided to apply for PR after having lived in Montreal, QC for two years. Here is a quick summary of our process;

April 2009: Husband arrived on a Closed Work Permit (sponsored by his company - valid for 3yrs).
May 2010: I arrived on an Open Work Permit attached to my husbands' (stayed in the US to finish my Masters degree)
March 2012: Husbands' company extended our work visas for another two years (until 2014)
June 2012: We decided it would be beneficial to apply for Permanent Residency (taxes, potential citizenship etc).
July 2012: Completed TEFaQ exam and waiting on results in the mail (both at the B1 level).
July 2012: Requested FBI Police Certificates from the USA
July 2012: Scheduled our medical exams for the first week of August.
August 2012: Planning to submit our CSQ application through the PEQ programme (worked in QC for 1yr and speak French).
September 2012: Planning to submit our QSW application.
January 2013: Hopefully we obtain our PRCs at this time! :)

We are pretty confident that this will all go smoothly. Happy to answer any questions.

Thanks.

Hi,

Who told you they have reached the limit? Please share a link to an official page that shows so.

Hello guys somebody can explain to me which category we are belong (me and my wife ).

Me - Electrical Engineering degree ( 5 years course philippines )
My wife - Degree in nursing ( 4 years course in philippines )

And treated as a Québec diploma:

•a Canadian diploma (if it is issued by the minister responsible for education or by a university of a Canadian province or territory);
a foreign diploma recognized as equivalent by a Québec regulatory body, except if it is a medical diploma;
•a foreign diploma or training leading to the practice of a regulated profession or trade in Québec, if you have already received authorization to practise this occupation in Québec;
•a training certificate that falls under a Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) concluded within the framework of a mutual recognition agreement regarding professional qualifications with another government, for the practice of a profession governed by a professional order in Québec. You must possess the legal ability to practise required under this arrangement and this arrangement must have been implemented. Note that France is the only country with which such an agreement has been concluded. Make sure you meet the conditions set out under the MRA for your profession so that your training certificate can be treated as a Québec diploma (in French);
•a foreign diploma or training that falls under an MRA that allows for the practice of a regulated occupation in Québec, if the Québec regulatory body attests that you meet the required training conditions and, if applicable, the professional experience required to practise this occupation (in French).

I just want to confirm if we are belong to the highlighted one, now i'm filling up the applicatin form and this is related to question no.8

Thank you very much
