ok devang,
Here is the first post of previous discussion which was done when stillhope and egrace62 were quite active on the forum...

mm. Mine is in AOT. As I know, yours too. If Ambi's "no" contains "A" then we may have some idea.

First of all thank your everyone for their best wishes.

Secondly as question asked by MKShah, My file 2nd no is also starting with A. as i read before there is nothing any priority with second word start with A.

hope this info helps u guys

Hi guys,

My BIQ should be Damascus but since it's closed, I sent my documents to Montreal office directly. My file number start with DA..
I got my Bachar degree(computer engineering) more than 5 years ago but my experience as IT/Computer Project Manager should be related to my field of study. If this is true, then I should be in the priority list, but I don't know!!!

Congrats ambi on your interview notification.

I share the same opinion as per the file no. lettering, mine too is PA for both and I'm sure it has nothing to do with priority. Those with AOT on priority list just have their files treated as such with similar file no. with every other applicants.

Cheers

Hi Osama,

Computer Engineering field is in Shortage list of Quebec, probably you may receive priority treatment.

P.S. You got degree 5 years ago, so I am not sure.

I guess it's up to the officer when he reads the job description. If he/she is satisfied that the work in do is related to my field of study or not..

Hi nick_cool & javeedislam,
I have corrected some pts given here... Rest are ok as given by javeedislam

Your Education Points - 12
Your Area of Training Points - 6
Your Work Experience Points - 6
Your Age Points - 16
Your French Listening Points - 1 (as per new criteria they give 1 point for A2 seniors plz do me correct if I am wrong)
Your French Speaking Points - 1 (as per new criteria they give 1 point for A2 seniors plz do me correct if I am wrong) if ur score in listening & speaking each section is above or equual to 16 out of 25, then he will get 3 pts in each secttion=3+3 points for A2,
if score is less than 16 in listening or speaking of A2, than he will get only 1 point of A1 level for that section.

Your English Listening Points - 2
3 points for 7 bands in listening.
Your English Speaking Points - 2
3 points for 8 bands in speaking.

Your Brother in Quebec Points - 5
he will get only 3 points, pls see below note.
Financial Self-sufficiency Points - 1
Total Points - 52

so total points= 12+6+6+16+3+3+3+1=50 points, I have not added pts for french A2 as I dont know your score, so you should add it accordingly based on ur score in listening & speaking.
But the good thing is that you are already reaching to the interview threshold of 49 points without adding french, and if you get 6 pts in A2 then you are achieving to 55 pts which may give you csq even without interview.
So, ur profile seems quite strong, you must submit file as early as possible.
Family in Quebec Nature of Relationship Points Spouse 3 points
Son or daughter, father or mother, brother or sister 3 points
Grandfather or grandmother 3 points
Uncle or aunt, nephew or niece 0 points
Maximum 3 points
Note: To be awarded points under this criterion, the relative or friend must reside in the Province of Quebec.
