Hi Myhope,
I am currently leaving in Douala, Bonaberi. Last year |I missed the cap with the Federal NOC 1122. My envelope was received in BIQ paris on 3rd Feb 2012. Still waitig to hear from them. I took the TEF exams as well as IELTS which I included in my application. Contact me on 77115637 or 97702474

Hi,

Here's my status as it stands now:

I'm from the UK and my Common Law is from the USA. We are already in Montreal on work permits.
Applied for CSQ: Nov 2010
1st AOR: Feb 9th 2011
Interview Date/Location: Feb 8th 2012, Montreal
CSQ Issued: Feb 8th 2012
Federal App Sent: Feb 20th 2012.

Doesn't seem to be many people on here applying via Buffalo so seems hard to gauge how long it will take now. I'm guessing a bit more than a year. Also compared to everyone else it seems odd that it took over a year from submitting out CSQ application until we got an interview.

HI Beakster,
your and mine situation is same. I am also in Montreal and applied for CSQ in Nov 2010 and got my CSQ with in 5 months..and I applied to federal ( Buffalo ) on May 2nd 2011 and so far no news from them. I contacted Buffalo after 30 weeks of my application and then they sent me the file number.

i am not sure why they took such a long time for you to give a CSQ itself.
from my experience and from the mails that I received from Buffalo they said they take 30 weeks to open a file and give you a number.

regards
Syed

Hi Beakster,

Congrats on finally submitting your federal application!
I was wondering - what made you decide to apply to Buffalo, and not to London?

Hi,

It was because I've been working in Canada since 2009 and also because my common law spouse is an American.

I don't know why they took so long with my CSQ, no I see how quick everyone else got theirs its annoying. We were hoping to have the whole permanent residency thing well under way by now. My girlfriend started at McGill back in September. We thought we'd get PR during her course and it would save a lot of money. Now it looks like the PR will arrive just after she finishes. :(
