Hi,

Can someone please tell me what are the minimum IELTS score bands in each field to get FULL points for English proficiency? As a fluent English speaker, should I assume I will get full points for it?

P.S. This site mentions the following but it's not for Quebec but the Federal Program:

The four sections of the IELTS (Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking) are measured on a Band Score system from 1-9. To receive the maximum number of points for English language ability on a Federal Skilled Worker application, applicants who are required to take the IELTS, must obtain a Band score of 7.5 or higher in the Listening component and a 6.5 or higher in the other three components.

It is cleared mentioned in this table as:
Exam Level cosidered for awarding Points for
Level points based on score PA Spouse
C2* DALF C2 : au moins 32 sur 50 à l'épreuve orale** 8 3

C1 DALF C2 : au moins 16 sur 50 à l'épreuve orale 8 3
DALF C1 : au moins 16 sur 25

B2 DALF C1 : de 8 à 15 sur 25 6 3
DELF B2 : au moins 16 sur 25

B1 DELF B2 : de 8 à 15 sur 25 4 2
DELF B1 : au moins 16 sur 25

A2 DELF B1 : de 8 à 15 sur 25 3 1
DELF A2 : au moins 16 sur 25

A1 DELF A2 : de 8 à 15 sur 25 1 1
DELF A1 : au moins 16 sur 25

Hey, for single applicant, A2 only gives 3 points?? I thought it's 6 points? On this website, it says something else, see below. Also, why does C2 give 8 points instead of 16 which is the maximum?? I'm lost! :o

French Language
French Proficiency Low Beginner High Beginner Low Intermediate High Intermediate Advanced
Listening 1 point 3 points 4 points 6 points 8 points
Speaking 1 point 3 points 4 points 6 points 8 points

Maximum 16 points

hi nevillek,
this points are given for each section listening & speaking, so total of 3 for listening + 3 for speaking = 6 points for A2.

@nevillk,
for qsw, only listening & speaking sections bands are considered for IELTS.
pls refer to this table for points for IELTS, if your application is submitted after 5th Dec 2011.

Hello All

Please can anyone with past experiences in CSQ interview, tell me what they actually looked for?
My friend is selected to come for interview in his nearest mission.

Plenty thanks!!!

Hey mkshah,

Thanks a lot. So 6 points for English (I'm very fluent) and 6 points for French A2, right? I've heard that they're giving 4 points for A2 though?

Hi All,

This is my first posting in this forum.. Hope to hear back soon... :)

I am currently residing in USA and working full time on my OPT (Optional Practical training) directly related to my degree.

Level of education - Masters in Mechanical Engineering (2010 passed out)
Bachelor in Aeronautical engineering (2007 passed out @India)
Work experience - 2 year of full time experience in USA related to mechanical engineering (1 year full time during masters and more than 1 year (Still working) after Masters program)
1 year Internships in India during bachelor's program related to aeronautical engineering field (between 2006 to 2007)

IELTS band score - 7.0
French language - taking French Beginner classes (Can provide letter from the respective institution on the enrollment. reading older posts, I understand that no points will be awarded for this but just on safe side to show the officer that I am learning french course)

Age - 26

Marital Status - Single

Can you please give me an estimated idea on chances of getting CSQ?

Also, to my knowledge, I understand that the CSQ application has to be sent first. Once I get the CSQ approved, I then have to send another application with required documents to CIO.

Thanks,
Sri...

Thank you very much OsamaR,

I noticed also that my address is not present there maybe I will get good news hopefully.

Changing a status is indeed a good news. but I am not sure address disappear has to anything with the progress. I see my address is also not present now.
It happened that to my file few months back. and address was visible again after one day. I thought that could be due to some system maintenance.

any way good luck to all..
Syed

Thanks a lot MKSHAH.
I am applying to hongkong for CSQ. So do we need to put any photos? in checklist it is not mentioned, so all who have put file, please advice....
And where to find Appendix A?

Hi there! Do any of you know of any case in which the CSQ is offered only by applications (selection sur dossiers), i.e. without having an interview? Does it always happens if you have enough points (57 for single and 63 for couple)?

I sent my applications late October 2011 to BIQ Hong Kong. I got 59 points only with that. I will have my DELF B1 and B2 results next week. I believe I will gain at least 8 points, while I only need 4 more to meet the "selection sur dossiers" requirements.

Hello,
How did you know that you "got 59 points" ??

Hi. I am preparing to send in my application for the and need some guidance. I am presently doing classes with Alliance Francais but won't be ready to do a test as yet and not at least for the next 6 months . If I claim 0 points for French, can I submit the results of a test after? I was thinking to submit a receipt or letter to show I am enrolled in classes and intend to submit those later. Anyone feedback is appreciated.

Based on the grades:

- Education: 12
- Experience: 8
- Age: 16
- English: 6
- Spouse: Education: 3+2; Age: 3
- Kids: 8
- Finance: 1

12+8+16+6+3+2+3+8+1 = 59

To all of my friends here in this thread I'd like to inform you that I've just received my visa last Friday. :) I'd be there in Montreal in April! See you around guys!
