OK But it says here that Applicants who wish?

So I am fluent at English and will get good results I am sure. But I know only few words in French (studying) so I am afraid I will not be able to pass french tests. So If I only present English tests Can I still apply? Or you recommend to learn french first and then apply?
I always encourage people to apply now don't wait changes could happen at any moment, and the last thing you will need is another obstacle. It does say "who wish" which indicates to me, you can tick a box of some sort which tells the Visa Officer processing your files that your test scores will be sent subsequently. I have no idea when you will be asked to submit the scores - it could be at the AOR stage - which indicates to you that your file is open, and the correspondence sent to you indicates what documents are missing or need correction. Usually you have a couple days to submit what documents were requested, failure to do this your application will be closed and file returned to you.

Therefore I give you two options:

1) you apply now>>>join a school that teaches french (such as Alliance Francaise)>>>include that receipt in your application, and indicate you are a beginner>>>Since you are comfortable with English, do the IELTS, and submit that score and appropriate level in your application. This option you run the risk of the Visa Officer asking you to submit French results and if you are not ready the application could be closed

2) Wait, do both test and apply with the scores and and appropriate levels you were assessed at. The risk here is that the standards may change again that may create a bit of an obstacle.

If you really want to settle in Quebec, a very good school to learn French fast is Alliance Francaise, you will be ready in no time to do one of the basic exams such as the DELF basic level A1 that you can include in your application - I say in three (3) to six (6) months. Do both exams and send an application, therefore I am thinking option 2 for you. Its always wise to speak with someone else though not only here on the blog but a professional, and then you can gather your path you want to follow. Dont be discouraged my friend!

if this dream is in your heart you will find a way

Ok, after a long wait, yesterday I sent mail to Buffalo first time asking for the status.
today I got email from Buffalo and gave my immigration and application number. i guess this is my first AOR from Buffalo.
they said my file is in processing no further action is required.

if you are waiting for your status update for a long time, it looks like it is better to shoot a mail.
but make sure you do not send more than once one mail for every 3 months.

@ fxtrader777

Further to our discussion earlier I did some additional research, there may be hope for you yet. on Canadavisa.com in the FAQ the following question was posed, "if I don't speak French, can I still obtain a CSQ?" The reply was
Possibly. The selection is done on a points-based assessment. If you meet the minimum points requirement without speaking French you may still be granted the CSQ. Fill out our online assessment forms to find out if you qualify.

Online assessments could be found on the MICC page to determine if you currently qualify at:

http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/immigrate-settle/permanent-workers/epi.html

or, you can do an assessment with David Cohen, you will get a reply within 24 hours. look to the top of this page, and next to the home button you will see assessment, you can do it there. So I advise you strongly to speak to an expert. There may be hope for you to apply now, do a pre assessment and Good Luck!

The MICC has implemented a system of priority processing of skilled worker applications to be carried out in the following order: 1. Validated employment offer; 2. Preferred areas of training (applicant, spouse or a de factor spouse); 3. Others.

Therefore it is likely your friend will be in the next batch if the Visa Office have further concerns or the interview could be waived altogether...
@ Bajan4Quebec
Thanks for your prompt info...so he still stand a chance to have a waived interview? A waived interview is as a result of what?..And having an interview is also as a result of what sisutation?

Thanks

Hi all,

I'd applied for Quebec immigration as skilled worker and have just received my permanent resident visa. I've got a question about the process of landing in Montréal with my visa and CSQ.

As I'm still working here in Switzerland and have quite some stuff to do before moving to Canada, I'm planning to land in Quebec late summer, stay there for just a week (can't stay more due to work issues), and then return to Switzerland. My ultimate move to Canada might be delayed one or even two years after I land. So my questions are:

- Is there any chance that I receive the PR card within one week? If not, would it be possible (and safe!) that a friend of mine (whom his address I give to the officer for mailing the PR card) send it to me by post after it has arrived, or should I sign something there in person?

- Are there any other formalities that I should do (or I better do!) there before leaving Canada, knowing that I might be back in 1-2 years? (e.g., do I already have to apply for SIN, register at some places, open a bank account, change driver's license, etc?!)

- Do I have to pay any sort of taxes/fees during the 1-2 years while I've not yet moved to Canada?

- Finally, would it suffice to show a bank statement of my Swiss bank account at arrival as the proof of funds? I'm not planning to take any large amounts of cash...

Thanks a lot for your helps!

Hi all,

I'd applied for Quebec immigration as skilled worker and have just received my permanent resident visa. I've got a question about the process of landing in Montréal with my visa and CSQ. ( first canada is a good place right? but there is also another Angle to it. the country from which u are leaving to immigrate to canada will also determine aw attractive/good canada really is. i believe switzerland is one of the best country in the world. although u av a better picture of why u want to move to canada, but if u av a very good job in switzerland , then in my own opinion, canada might not b too fantastic for u cos of the similarity in economic strngth, political might etc btw those two countries and what is more, u will av to basiccally start form scratch in canada. so unless u are ready to face all these without complaining,ur experience might not b recognised, and unless ur french is really good, stellar jobs can just be a mirage. then it might not b a too fantastic move.it is most favorable to those from a developing country/those who naturally will av to pass 2ru the eyes of a needle to get any type of canadian visa be it student visa, temporary visa, etc not to talk of a PRV. just my little observation though... by the way doesnt Switzerland av free entry to canada?
As I'm still working here in Switzerland and have quite some stuff to do before moving to Canada, I'm planning to land in Quebec late summer, stay there for just a week (can't stay more due to work issues), and then return to Switzerland. My ultimate move to Canada might be delayed one or even two years after I land. So my questions are: all permanent residents av residency requirements that they must fullfil else they lose their permanent residency.the moment u land, they ll begin to measure u against those requirements.u will b asked if u will be travelling b4 u get ur PR card, so in ur case u will be issued a pass allowing u to travel. that is all abt that that i knw. cos i was asked if i will b travelling back too at the airport

- Is there any chance that I receive the PR card within one week? at least for now, it is not possible to get PR card in a week If not, would it be possible (and safe!) that a friend of mine (whom his address I give to the officer for mailing the PR card) send it to me by post after it has arrived, or should I sign something there in person? asking a friend to send it to u is at ur own risk. and the service canada guys dare not hear abt it. so u keep it to urself and if it has bad consequences, u also keep it to ur self

- Are there any other formalities that I should do (or I better do!) there before leaving Canada, knowing that I might be back in 1-2 years? (e.g., do I already have to apply for SIN, register at some places, open a bank account, change driver's license, etc?!) what is the point in changing dirivers lincence when u wont even b around to attend ur appointment with the SAAQ responsible for linsence. cos there are several pple, u might need to wait 2months to get an appointment... as for SIN card, well the choice is all urs, but be warned, i dentity theft is real, am sure u knw what the SIN card means. enthrusting it to someone is very risky.. but the choice is all urs

- Do I have to pay any sort of taxes/fees during the 1-2 years while I've not yet moved to Canada? as a PR, u only pay tax on all wages within canada only canadian citizens pays worldwide tax. such that they will av to pay tax on any investment or earning they av anywhere in the world

- Finally, would it suffice to show a bank statement of my Swiss bank account at arrival as the proof of funds? I'm not planning to take any large amounts of cash... well, i think those guys at the airport are less concerned abt the financial thing.. they only ask aw much are u bringing in. they wont even ask to see it

Thanks a lot for your helps! count the cost wwell before taking the leap
