BAD NEWS

Received an official rejection letter for my CSQ application today. After getting a preliminary score from MICC last week (failing both employability and total because I didn't submit language scores), I wrote an email to the agent handling my case, asking if it's possible to waive the language tests given my background (Masters done in French in Quebec). I knew my chance of escaping the tests were slim and I was prepared to write them but I didn't think she would reject my case out right, without the 90 days to submit the test scores expire. I think the agent misunderstood my letter as declining to write the tests, hence the official rejection of my application.

Now I know I'd have to write the exams, as you suggested, but what do I do now, the agent's letter is a final decision. Should I write to her again explaining the mis-communication, or should I directly go to the Administrative Review process, which is surely going to take much longer and be very complicated.

Advices needed please!

That totally sucks!!!! I really hate to say it but I told you that common sense wouldn't work.

As I told you before writing to the officer won't change a thing. Specially now that you got the rejection letter. Think of these situation as if you were receiving a car ticket, once it's printed there is no point talking to the cop, your only option is to fight it in court. Same here, officer already made the decision and send you the letter, now your only option is fight it using the administrative review process.

I really don't have any experience with the review process, but I would start it and then send the first letter that gave you 90 days and the registration tickets for the language exams and state that initially you were given 90 days to comply by sending the exams. Tell them reopen your case and allow you the extra time so you can receive the diplomas. I would also send any other information that might increase your points. ie. New experience letters, kids, etc

I suggest you apply for FSW as it is a much better system. Just my 2 cents.

Not to start an argument here, but FSW is only a good system ONLY for those who qualify for it because of their degrees/professions. Those who do not (people like me for example) don't really have another option but to endure the long process to obtain QSW

HI,
Some of 2011 applicant are receiving an e-mail to update their documents, still the French test are not mandatory but if you want to gain some points you have to submitted with a minimum level of B2.
I personally submitted the Tefaq result in Jan-2014 and also I applied since Oct 2013 for the comparative evaluation which also is not mandatory to do it.

Still nothing received from their side.

@jimmy.If i may ask, how many months did you review for the french test? I saw in your timeline that your interview was waived. It was maybe because you've given your tefaq result thus no need for an interview to assess your french skill. You've also written there that you gained 11 points for french first then 5 points after. How did it come that way btw? thank you. :)

In accomplishing the forms, is it true that all lettters must be capitalize?

hi,
not at all my interview not yet happened, hope that it will be waived.
I'm French educated,in addition to that i did a master in France.I got C1 B2 in TEFAQ as well my wife so i got 11 points and she got 5 points so total of 16 points.

I understand that MICC is asking for B2 French.

Have you guys worry about that your French score for A2 would expire in one year (TEFaQ)?

I took my TEFaQ in Oct 2012 so it would already be expired.

Seems like they will change some immigration rules but it will take some time for them to get everything organize.

Depends on your specialty. For example, to be certified insurance agent/broker you need to pass their exams, do internship and have evaluation comparative Des etudes effectuees a l'exterieur du quebec

Hello Katayoon, I think you can remember me we used to share Quebec experience appliacnt from UK (LVO). How are you? and Montreal? I am still in Europe back to Italy.
This is my case actually; I have got my QSC as a single, July 2012 and I applied for PR August 2012 as a single, then got married in March 2013 and my wife joined me in August 2013 from UK to Italy, then my visa center (LVO) asked me to do medical in September 2013 while in the mid time I informed them that I have got married and they told me to postpone my medical exams and send my wife application to introduce her and I did. After few months in November 2013 they asked both of us to do the medical exams we did it.
In January, I was asked to send my wife QSC as well, I told them I did not that after updating my status by informed the CIC, I would have applied also for my wife QSC at the BIQ.
That same (January) month, I sent my file in Montreal but up to now no signs from BIQ and even called them twice already, nothing.
