Hi everyone, I just want to ask a few questions regarding the application for quebec skilled worker. My husband actually send an application for the FSW category under noc 2174 but right now theres no update maybe returned due to cap reached. Im a nurse and would like to apply for the qsw instead as the main applicant. My questions are:

-since it will take time to receive the application back, can I send the application for selection without the ielts and just write an explanation that I will send it to them once received? Im also planning for british council to send a copy of my results instead.
-how many months for selection of nomination to be process?

Hope you can reply on my queries.

Greetings!

I am a nurse from the Philippines. I have some questions regarding the application for QSW. Any replies will be very much appreciated.

1. I graduated with a BS in Nursing last 2008. Do I need to validate this with a regulating board to claim the 10 points (in the aug 2013 rules)?

2. As a single applicant, Quebec requires me to have around CAD$3000 (single applicant with 0 children). How do I prove to them that I have the funds? I don't see anything stated re: proof of funds.

Kristine,

IELTS isn't required to apply for CSQ. That's only to get extra points if you need some to meet the minimum threshold. Also, unlike for FSW, IELTS value is miserable in terms of points awarded even for an advanced proficiency. You can send your application if you have the minimum points and then update your file with IELTS result. You'll need to start learning french. That will be one of the most important aspects of application. The processing time will mostly depend on if your profession is in the priority list. Calculate your overall points via this link http://www.canadavisa.com/quebec-skilled-worker-immigration.html

1) Points are awarded based on the overall years of schooling and the country where degree was obtained. Not all BS degrees are equivalent as they range in terms of years studied and credits earned. From what I read in the CSQ bulletin, on average 10 points are awarded for a degree with 16+ years of education. Also, I recommend to do a comparative evaluation of your degree.
2) There's a form called financial declaration that you have to sign and mail along with the rest of your documents. That's all you need to do. No need to submit a bank statement.

Then you're good to go ;) Best of luck with your application. After you submit all the required documents it'll take several months to receive the AOR. When you get the AOR (acknowledgment of receipt) you will have your file number and with it you'll be able to update your file with IELTS result or whatever else you might wanna add to have more points.

Wow l! Thanks Ievgen for the quick response.

Re: My first question,
So I just submit my high school diploma and college degree then? You mentioned a comparative study? What is it?

I have some basic questions again. If you could answer, that would be great.

1. In form A-0520-AA, Question 9: "Are you a holder of one or several of the ff diplomas"

Do I tick the box, "Diploma or training recognized as equivalent by a Quebec regulatory body"?
I am a BS Nursing degree in the Philippines (4 years)

2. Do I need to put my middle name on the "Family name at birth" line?

3. Will I just leave blank items not applicable to me?

4. Only one passport sized picture is necessary in the application? Will I paste it on the application form?

5.What is does work internships in the context of studies over the last five years mean? Does this include trainings I did? Will this add up to the experience points? Can I not declare this if I have sufficient professional experience as a staff nurse?

6. Which IELTS do they need? General Training or Academic?

Well for my family and I, we sent everything after receiving our CSQ last October to the Ottawa office, and we did our medical checkup at the end of December 2012 here in Cairo, Egypt. Since that time we didn't do anything and we weren't getting any useful info regarding our file.
Recently, last June, we received an email from the embassy here in Cairo telling us that the file is here in Egypt and should be processed in turn.
Since that e-mail we didn't receive anything from them, although we sent the Cairo Office and the Ottawa office like millions of mails, but we are not getting any replies from them yet.

Does anybody in here know when should we expect them to contact us or if they contact us will they need anything new from us except the fees?

My concern is the WHEN will they may contact us. We did our interview on May 2012, so it has been a very long time since then. Any help?

This means your visa has been stamped into your passport or is at the point of getting stamped. Once you see Quebec in your home address bar, you can start celebrating
