I think they will close the program temporarily to take care of the backlogs. That is the only way to become effective again. From the 9 criterias they listed on their website, anybody can still apply especially if you have education that is equivalent to quebec education system,on the area of training list etc.
"The government hopes that by narrowing the selection criteria of the QSW program, the province will be able to more readily choose immigrants that will satisfy it’s economic and labour market needs. It anticipates that it will be able to stabilize the amount of applications processed in the next three years to 50,000 a year, with the hope that a greater percentage of those reviewed will be admitted to the province in a timely manner, and that that refusals will be diminished."

http://www.cicnews.com/2012/03/quebec-immigration-summary-031444.html

According to this article, Quebec plants to process and average of 50,000 applications per year for the next three years, this why I highly doubt the program will be closed all together.

That`s what I have been hearing,QSW will raise language proficiency, age and regions,by region it means that it will take for example 30% from Europe,20% from Africa etc......I have been hearing from friends that
i have in Canada that they want more people with trades, coz there`s a high demands on trades (mechanics,carpenter..etc).

Hello, :)

We applied for Quebec under skilled worker category in october 2012 and we got an email recently saying .."we need to submit the certified copy of birth certificate" or "possibly an affidavit "

NOTE: we submitted only secondary school certificate (notarized) as birth certificate along with application.(oct 2012)

1) I got the birth certificate without my name on it but there is G.O attached to it which shows my name on it......this what i got when i applied for the birth certificate @ municipal corporation in india .Will they accept this document or do i need to submit any other documents along with this??

2) But my husband could not get the birth certificate because the date on the birth certificate is different than other documents ( 10TH class ,, passport) so which document can we substitute for birth certificate???

Can we submit the Secondary school certificate (notarized) along with the affidavit from both the parents?? IS this aceptable??

Please PLEASE reply ASAP

..ITS VERY URGENT .......Thanks in advance :)

Why dont you courier (i know its risky to courier all your life's earnings ) your original documents to someone (friend/relative) and ask them to get them certified from public notary. Its not necessary to go to the education intsitution. Any public notary can do it. Use DHL Express service within a week you can get your documents back. Else no option..you will have to travel yourself.
This requirement is strict as I per my understanding.

If not courier then you can find someone trustworthy who will be travelling to your country.

"Copy of a document certified as true to the original by the institution holding the original or by the legal authority duly authorized to certify a copy of a document."

Hi Friends,

I have a question about "Certified True Copies" accepted by Quebec Immigration office. I am currently in Quebec and have already submitted my application for CSQ.

I have submitted them the "Sworn" in copies instead of "Certified true copies", as we are currently in Quebec and we have the originals with us hence it was not possible for us to go to our country of birth and get the certified true copies done there.

I recently received an email from MICC to submit all the certified true copies of the documents as mentioned in the checklist :

"Certified true copy
Copy of a document certified as true to the original by the institution holding the original or by the legal authority duly authorized to certify
a copy of a document.
Example 1: A copy of your originals diplomas or transcripts must be certified as true by the administration or registrar of the educational
institution (school, college or university) that issued your diplomas or transcripts or by an authorized legal authority (Ministère de l'éducation
or other equivalent government bodies).
Example 2: A copy of your act of birth must be certified as true by the national, regional or municipal legal authority responsible for keeping
civil status registers (Direction de l'état civil, a government department, consulate, etc.).
The authorized person must write in block letters on the copy:
• The declaration: “I certify that this is a true copy of the original document.”
• Name of the original document
• Date of the certification
• Position or title of the authorized person
• His or her name
The authorized person must sign the copy and affix the seal of the institution, if any.
Note: The copy of a document sworn by a person (a commissioner for oaths, officer of the court or justice of the peace) who does not hold
the original or who cannot certify its validity is not a certified true copy of the original."

Now I am stuck and it would be really difficult for me to go to my home country and get the certified true copies done. It seems that MICC is now very strict about the "Certified True Copies" and we cannot get this done in Quebec.

Please help us on this. Thanks.

No but at least there's an Embassy or consulate of your country in Quebec and those people can "certify true copies" of all your papers instead of send them back home which is too risky as you have to send all the originals. Hope those help

Need some advice: QUEBEC

Apparently lots of information flying around that from the end of March they are going to stop taking new applications due to the backlog.

My problem is that the next TCF Quebec course we an get onto is late March or April.

Do you think we should send our application in at the start of March as planned and then send the TCF Quebec results when we have them?

If we do this should we mark on the application form that the test is planned with copies of the inscription showing the dates etc?

We had planned on soing the test the 27/02 but the test centre has cancelled the course!!! b***ards

Nowadays, that will get your application returned because of the missing tests. The forms are done in a way that you either have the language tests or you don't.

If you have enough points to pass the preliminary evaluation you could send the application without claiming points for language and later submit the TCF as an update so you could claim points.

Guys now Quebec Govt is very strict about the "Certified True Copies" refer to the examples they mentioned:

"Example 1: A copy of your originals diplomas or transcripts must be certified as true by the administration or registrar of the educational
institution (school, college or university) that issued your diplomas or transcripts or by an authorized legal authority (Ministère de l'éducation
or other equivalent government bodies).
Example 2: A copy of your act of birth must be certified as true by the national, regional or municipal legal authority responsible for keeping
civil status registers (Direction de l'état civil, a government department, consulate, etc.)."

Even they mentioned that lawyer or Judge or Commissioner of Oath cannot certify any such documents...

I have sent all my documents to India and asked my parents to visit respective offices e.g: School,College and Municipality and get the certifies true copies as mentioned by them. Hopefully this will resolve the issue. I will keep every one posted.

Hi,
I have a question for -akshagarwal-

If i send the originals of my transcripts, not photocopies, just as issued and stamped by the registrar/and pricipals of the schools, will they be rejected? Do we need to certify only photocopies, or we need to certify the Originals that we are given by our authorities again???????

Interview: 01/02/2012

Than I had to transfer my file to BIQ Hong Kong since I left U.K. and went back to Pakistan. I was unable to travel to Paris for my interview.

Now I don't know what will be the process? Will I have to wait for another AOR from Hong Kong office? or Will I receive a call for interview since my file has already been assessed by BIQ Hong Kong Office. How long will it take?

Any ideas???

That's also my question! :) Is it possible to send original transcripts? And social insurance? How can we certify?
