Well in my opinion Quebec has 0 chances to survive without other Canadian Provinces, and separation of Quebec is considered only by a minority of people.
It`s just sabre rattling from PQ,a publicity stunt, they will have people on their throats if they think of separation from Federation.
Right. Also, every province in Canada is very independent of each other in terms of social security, economic policies, education, health care and so on. Today Quebec, tommoro it could be BC. I don't know if this separation would happen, but it would definitely need a new system in place for immigration. I mean, so many Canadian nationals today live in QC and, similarly, so many Quebecers live in other provinces - this needs a policy to make sure life continues(something like the europian union I guess?)

Unity is better and more successful, but i feel Parti quebecois are racisit against new immigrants who dont know french.

They put new immigration and language minister, lets see how strict she will be.
They might be worst than b4, you see she said no additional fees for universities for this year lol
next year we will make study and see how we can add fees according to the income of quebec people,

If they will vote we cant do anything, they wil decide, they have this plan for future, because check quebec webpage, they will take 10,000 from france till december 2012, so these people are taking lot french who will vote for french country ;D

Yesterday she had talk show on TV5 france, lol

Feel like she is Pauline Merkel ;)

PQ will not change Quebec , they will be voted out before they do any damage . Most of the Quebecers are not supporting their ideas.
It is a shame the want to be alone . Very few with stand for separation .

they will not vote now, she want to make lot of changes, and when she feels she can get it, she will ask for vote

I told you that in 1996 they got 40%
now if you check the web page of quebec there are about 10,000 visas for france in the coming 3 months
means every year 40,000 from france, for long run ;) 10 years they will get 500,000 from france

how much from asia BIQs? less than 1000/year

she is making new changes like 1 doctor for each family etc new to come,

there are about 2.5 million came from france in the last 20 years see statistics

also in 1940 quebec was separate country ;) for your info

That is correct. I have read a lot on this (press releases etc) and does not look like it will happen.
If we do a simple anonymous survey, online or in Quebec/montreal, most, if not all, quebec residents are very proud to be part of Canada and would not want anyseparation. These linguistic wars seem to come politicians alone and that is a shame.

I hope people stop spreading wrong ideas here on this forum about Quebec separation and assume that ALL of us here are ignorant. In the case that it happens, I imagine that we might all become Quebec residents? And, if this is going to be a 100% francophone society, then we all have no option but to move to Ontario/BC etc. If they want only francophones, they won't even selet us for the interview anyway.

Well, I'm a Nigerian. All of us that applied before December 2011 change are lucky because applications could be submitted without French certificate and that's what you are benefitting now, please try to have our wife start preparing for French now against your interview because as the principal applicant she will be scored more points for her French ability than you will be scored. I have said it before on the forum that the effort one puts in learning French also count because our interview officer said oue French wasn't that good based on our expressions during the interview that we should continue learning French against our landing in Quebec but we meritted the CSQ. With the emphassis on languages now it is important to try to get as much point as possible.

In regards of your likely interview date I believe Mkash, Osamar and others have done a good job in analyzing the pattern of Hong kong VO interview scheduling using applicants AOR file numbers, application dates and the interview mission schedules so if you look into it you should be able to get an approximate interview mission schedule.

I'm of the opinion that the interview scheduling system will improve with the March 29th change and as soon as the backlogs are cleared.

Cheers

Hi,
Great to know some details! Please keep posted here on the kind of schooling you have chosen and you progress in Montreal! We would like to follow your footsteps and it will be very useful for us to get a picture on the way things are at Quebec! Many people seem to disappear after they get their Visas stamped.

And thanks for your advice. Yes i also have the same idea. If she can score some marks in A1 or A2 it will be really helpful for us meeting the cut off points.

Are planning to not quit your current job and try to settle your family first there and then return to nigeria and then leave again? How long are you planning your first trip for? Will you family also return?

Regards

Seriously? Whom are you kidding here?

When Canadian federation was created, quebec was one of the first provinces to be part of Canada since 1867.

It does not matter how many french citizens settle in Quebec. The French will prefer to remain in France if Quebec intend to separate. Most French citizens migrate to Quebec because they want to be under the big Umbrella (Canada). They Can come. Canada has a lot of free land , with a population of about 35 million and 9,984,670 km2 of land . Compared to USA which have a population of about 300 million people with 9,826,675 km2.

That is exactly what I said in my earlier posts . I don't understand why you quote me on this. I said almost all quebecers are proud to be Canadians. As you say, most immigrants come to be a part of Canada, as a whole, and not a part of one province.

shootingstar, the quote was for lemans207 not you , he/she was talking about 40 000 French citizens immigrating to Quebec in 3 months. thinking that the number will help PQ have it their way.
