Nothing really new from the MP's office...same as csaade...waiting for security checks. Once those are in, they will request the passport. I asked how long does this process take, and they can't say because it's different for everyone.

They said he passed his eligibility, which showed "not started" back in the July caips.

soooo we continue to wait :(

No the update was from yesterday.

Hey gents! Following obtaining the CSQ in October, my file to federal was received on November 9. I have included my credit card information in order to pay the required feed - actually I did that on purpose and not paid online because it will give me an indication when they opened the file. Yesterday, December 7 - i received an sms on my mobile noting CIC just charged me the fees.

I was wondering ... if they charged me, it means that they actually opened the file and went through the documents! Now, they will charge me only if the paperwork is complete - does this mean that they have reviewed my file and I should hear from them soon for my file number? Does the process became faster or this is not an indication?

Lemans, my man, your thoughts plz!

The pr card is valid for 5 years, so you can leave and return within those 5 years. Keep in mind, you're delaying your citizenship.

The only issue is you won't be active in the country (i.e. no tax return)...not sure if they will question your intentions to work and live in Canada.

thank you canadian citizen

Don't worry, sometimes the GCMS notes don't tell the full story. Look for the due dates on the notes...however keep in mind, they may work on your file before the "due date", so the date you see is the maximum.
