well, i think it depends on the officer whos working on ur file, w edde elo jlede ya3mol update aw la2! cz with all respect due to Winni, it's really unfair if they did process her/his file before ours!

However, i wont expect any visa this year! i think all visas are delayed till the begining of 2014!

Don't worry about the e-cas. It's not relevant to where your file is in the process. Some officers update it and others don't.

Hey guys, just wanted to ask you a question. I am not married yet,but in case i want to sponsor my future wife after i get the residency,is it possible that she comes on a tourist visa to canada? or it will be denied? if so how long can she stays in canada with a tourist visa?

Regards,

Jad

Not sure if she can visit while her sponsorship application is in process. However, she can visit you if she shows the embassy she has ties to Lebanon and intents on going back after her visit is over (i.e. work and family). Also, she has to show she has enough funds to take a trip (you can also send her an invitation letter). Usually the visit visa is between 3 to 6 months.

However, if you get married prior to receiving your visa, you need to inform the visa office and they will add her to your file. If you choose to sponsor her after you land, you need to settle and find a job, before you can apply for sponsorship.

So in case the main applicant's file has started processing before 2013 as stated in the Q&A and wishes to add his wife then it will fall under the old rules, my question is where can i read about the old rules for that or simply how long ,based on the old rules, would sponsoring a wife takes?

P.S. m not sure if I thanked you already Moon and CC, in case i havent thank you for your replies dearies .

sponsoring or adding her to your file?

Right now sponsorship is taking approximatly 2 years. Adding her to your file may delay the process by a few months, because she must receive her CSQ from Quebec and then apply to federal.

Thank you CC, you nailed it , i was asking about both to make a comparison.

cheers,

No problem! So which are you going to choose?

Either way, keep lots of documentation (i.e. pics, texts, phone logs). They are becoming very strict due to a lot of fraudulent marriages in the past.

Well I definitely prefer waiting for couple of months than couple of years for the reunion and judging by your own experience you know how painful it is to be away from your loved one during the entire application procedure .

Goodluck! Hopefully the wait isn't too long.
