Alright gents, just to make it clearer, our files will arrive to the embassy in Lebanon on the 5th of February, unpacking and sorting them out should take about another 5 working days, get your phones ready starting on the 10th day, we need to apply a little pressure on behalf of the over-exceeded-time-applicants just to show them that we are not relaxed about the situation and they shouldn't be relaxed about it either.

cheers!

Ok .. Noted ..

Hello Guys,

It's been a long time... I just read the thread!

i think some valuable news are in the air... Hope this transfer would give our files the necessary push and get our visas!!

btw these mails concerning the updates, all info they are asking about were sent to them with the initial forms! Are they asking for them twice?

Anthony

despite what everyone will say i think this is an excellent news for us (lebanese applicants) they redistributed the applications to several countries, we won't have to put up and wait so they can finish for example the Iranians applications or the iraqis etc.. now for example turkey office will handle Iranians application and so on..

Thanks for this information, finally it is official, lets wait and see what will happen afterwards... If only Beirut is going to process Lebanese applicantions and Jordan its own + Syria and Turkey its own + Iran, we should hear about medicals pretty soon especially that our wait exceeded the 21 months each...

they should have done this since the clashes began and we would have had our visas by now..

the new updated timeline (which is a total nonsense) for Damascus office is:

Last quarterly update: January 23, 2012

Damascus : 23 months

well i have been waiting 25 months and not a word about my Meds :(

I seen that Jet, in my opinion that time table has proven to be irrelevant for the last 4 years, before i applied to the federal it used to be 12 months
and all of us in this thread have exceeded even the new time limit anyways which is 23 months.

cheers

anyone called them yet?

Now we are dealing with different CIC.

If you live in Jordanie, Syria, or Iraq, you deal with Amman; Lebanon you deal with Beyrouth; Cyprus you deal with Tel-Aviv; And in Iran you deal with Turky .

Am asking myself if they are supposed to respect the time of Damascus (23 months) or their own times. someone has the answer?

the 23 months reflects a past procesing time and they are not bound by it for the future. did you know that on the website the processing time in damascus was once 9 months like 2 years ago, now it is 23 months so you can see the difference.. i have been waiting mor than 25 months and still no medicals, btw 23 months includes all the steps till you have the visa in your pocket and not only the medicals

Hello guys ...

Any updates ??

I can't belive more than 26 months and no any news at all ,,,
Up today I don't know where is my file exactly... What a luck I have !!!

cheers!!

i have received a reply from the canadian embassy in lebanon, none of my questions were answered and m sure that most
of you regard that as deja vu:

This is in response to your email below.

Due to the closure of the Visa Section of the Canadian Embassy in Damascus, active files of persons who have made applications for permanent residence in Canada in the following categories, for citizens and residents of Lebanon, have been sent to our office for processing.

Family Class

Quebec Skilled Worker

Provincial Nominee

If you have an application in process in any of the categories above, our office will contact you when your file reaches the assessment stage, or if you have already received a positive selection decision, when other documents or information are required to complete your application.

Please note that we will not be able to provide a status update on your application at this stage.

Processing times may be lengthier given the direction to close the office in Damascus and relocate files to other missions. We thank you for following the requirements indicated above, and for your patience during the application process.

well i don't expect to get anything before you Fadi since you have applied 1 month before me.
