Hello,
Walla ya chabeb w sabaya I wish you all the good luck.
I have been reading all your posts during the past few weeks.
I need a favor,if someone can give me some instructions,it will be more than great.
I will be landing in québec during the first 10 days of november and returning to lebanon, finalize everything and returning to quebec in 2015.
Therefore,I need to ask a couple of questions:
1-What are the documents (passport photos, diplomas, financial statements,etc...)that I need to have with upon landing in quebec
2-Once,I am at the airport, what type of questions,I will be asked (if there are any) and how much time will the registration process need
3-Are there any forms that i need to fill other than the immigration form?
4-What about the permanent resident card?I will be leaving before obtaining the PR (due to work and contracts commitments in lebanon) so do you have any suggestions.I have read that I can ask them to send the PR documents to my relatives address?WIll they go and ask my relatives about me later on(after leaving quebec) or they will just manage to forward the PR cards?
Moreover,I won't reside at my relatives place.I will reside in an hotel. So while filling the immigration form,do you think that they might consider it fishy to have the residence address different than the address to where the PR cards will be sent?
5-What about the expired CSQ.Mine (and my family members) has expired two years ago ( I received the immigration documents last month).I have contacted micc and they told me that there is need for renewing the CSQ once the visa has been issued.Has anyone had a similar case?
6-About the weather during november:how is it usually there during this period.Do we need to wear heavy clothes?
Thank you guys and again I wish everyone of you a great luck
1-you will need all the documents you can get. you won't need everything upon landing but for later on you might need them. i hope you did your degrees equivalency because it takes up to 9 months to get it, and some employers might ask for it.
2-if there are no other immigrants waiting then you'll be done in 15 min. they ask simple stuff(how much money are u bringing with you, the declaration card you filled out on the plane, your address to send the pr card), be honest in everything you say.
3-just fill out the card they give you on the plane. the immigration officer will fill out the copr and you'll sign it together.if ur bringing more than 10,000$ then you need the B677 form and if you have goods to follow then you need the B4 form.
4-the pr card will be forwarded to the address you give them but it will state on the envelope "do not forward", no one will take any responsibility for forwarding your pr card after it reaches the mentioned destination. if you trust these ppl then give the officer their address because you'll make sure that someone will have it in hand.the time for the pr card process varies so give it the max time which is around 3 months.
5-no need to renew it, some places might ask for it even if it has expired but it won't do you any good if you're willing to use it for the driver's license.
6-it starts getting cold in mid November, don't bring any clothes cause they won't do you any good. buy new clothes from here, you can find them on sale in some shops.
last winter was the coldest and we survived it, I hope this winter is better. we are in September and the temp is reaching 4C overnight.
good luck!!!
