Hello,

I had the same response a month ago and my status was "in process". they said as well that these checks are done by external agencies and therefore they cannot give a time frame for completion.
Anyway Anthony, I heard that these checks can take 2-3 months in case your status is clear and your profession is not related to any espionage risks, and can take up to few years in high risk cases.

my dear apolo,there is not related about any profession in this issue,they send request to agencies then they receive it from them ,it takes just 2 or 3 months maximum,my friends all,i know someone from syria,she lives in abu dhabi,her office was warswo,she asked them to speed up her file coz she had problem related to her passport(her passport expire after 5 months),do u know that they send her medical request and visa within 3 months!!!
do u know that they stamped the visa on her passport which is valide just 5 months!!! ma ra7 tsad2o enno visa stamped on passport valide bass 5 months,ana metlekon ma sada2et bass when she showen me the visa,i was shocked!!,who will be more risk my dear apolo in these days,u or syrian applicants??? if u dont believe me,ask leman,he knows everything about this applicant.

Appolo what does this have to do with your profession. What is a high risk profession ?

High risk professions can be like army, general security forces, intelligence services or any job that can be related to a country's national security. moreover, some organizations are also considered as high risk like terrorist classified organizations or those related to security problems in their counties.
I think this explains why they asked if we have completed our military services. no?
moreover, I've read that the VO agent can ask these agencies for extra checks (other than the normal checks that can take 2-3 months) on a certain file in case he had some concerns about it. these extra checks include the profession history etc.

why applicants from egypt get visa within 10 months?where is the security check which u r talking it about?why applicants from abu dhabi get visa within 10 months too?the answer is very clear,coz these vo have little files,every one from then has about 300-400 files,but for bucharest has about 1500 files.

why applicants from egypt get visa within 10 months?where is the security check which u r talking it about?why applicants from abu dhabi get visa within 10 months too?the answer is very clear,coz these vo have little files,every one from then has about 300-400 files,but for bucharest has about 1500 files.

I travelled my countries and i didnt mention which were less than 6 months

my file was transferred from ottawa to b 5 sept 2013 w b 5 feb meds w b 5 May visa

everyone will get visa. way badon yle2o hebil metelna to accept climate -25 8)

There's no summer in Canada this year. It'll be like the spring.
We're in mid May and it still gets cold from time to time. It won't stop raining, but at least safety is provided 24/7.
To correct your info, it reached -43C this winter. The cold weather started in mid November and ended around mid April I lived every second of it.

They didn't do any security check, they just checked for the police certificate validation(for countries where you lived for more than 6 months) and if the applicant's name is on the Interpol's list.
Here's how the ecas showed after transferring my file:
June 2013 it was application received
Beginning of July 2013 it showed application received and medical received
Mid August 2013 it changed to in process
Beginning of March 2013 it changed to decision made
Xmas and New Years periods were dead in files processing, no file was touched.

Maybe this is as Csaade is saying. They check whether an applicant is on the Interpol list, and this may take sometime due to the large number of applicants that have applied.

I means Interpol in Canada verifies this around the world, which consumes time due to other agencies replying to them , etc.....

Plus why did they order police certificates ?? If they are not using them for security ??
