First, new immigrants are not allowed to receive social assistance from the government, I believe for the first 3 years. Second, if you're plan is to come and be on scoial assistance, than I suggest you stay where you are. Tax payers don't need to pay for your laziness. Third, never heard of a building where credit cards are used to wash clothes. They accept coins.

my timeline is same as yours : AOR received in sep 2010 , medical done in 8 july 2013
and i am still waiting. I think they can extend the validity of the medical for 3 months. so even if they give us the visa in july, the validity can be at least 2 months. i donnow :-X

what do you mean by "back" ?
as far as i know the type of account i was signing up for is only eligible to immigrants that have not landed yet, what they do is they freeze it after wiring and request of you to pay any of their branch a visit within 3 days after landing.

aline there.s one account for immigrants . it.s called the newcommers account ( talking about rbc here ) but two ways to open the account. either from abroad as Lmastory did or from the branch near you.

exactly but what i am inquiring is that i did my landing have my PR still didnt open a bank account. can i open one while here in beirut? is it the same process as for people who didnt land yet?
