You can enter the US by land with only the PR card and travel to Cuba, Dominican with only a driver licence. I think we'll be ok not traveling for 1 year since we've waited almost 5!

Wait till u get here and apply, you'll get it for 10 years.
U can enter the US then using ur PR card and visa

Actually I asked the US embassy, they informed me you need visa and I must spend 1 year in Canada to be eligible to apply
To be eligible to apply also you must submit proof of funds, you must be employed, not sure if they gave me correct info.

Totally correct, better to take it from beirut. if you are not employed in canada, they wont give it to you. take it from here for 5 years easier.

I applied for it in UAE, I have interview in the USA embassy in 2 weeks, but I understood common wealth passport can easily get visa or no need even the Indian passport is common wealth, I mean not only UK etc

For anyone interested for visit to London since you can have one stop and you can rest 2 days,chances my not come again.
You can get transit visa for 48 hours if you have visa to USA or Canada//even if immigration// + ticket, all you need call the embassy not the Visa office they cant help you//
You have to send Canada visa and passport copy and proof of residence in your country + ticket copy and they will send you the transit visa.

It can be granted at airport, but better make sure you take it with you, because London hotels expensive

guys are you sure about the visa issue? my usa visa is for 2017 and if we land in 2015 (being pessimistic) then maybe we have time, but what is the real deal with applying for visas????

i am going to Italy in 2 weeks, as you said "might" not get the chance again when we go to Canada..
getting the USA visa for 5 years to USA is a good idea, wouldn't loose anything if we have it..

My status is still "application received" also..
I saw some cases where they updated their e-cas to "in process" at a certain time but in the details they said that they started the processing about a month ago... so I think it's a delay in the database updates.
And regarding the processing times, I think that the files that were submitted in 2013 were directly forwarded to Bucharest and will be processed with slightly better delays than the files that were transferred from Beirut... So let's hope for the best.
