My husband and I just applied to a visa from the Beirut office and we were given a five year visa, will expire in 2017, but I must tell you the Americans are now more tricky then before, I had a quick visit last month for a few days for a conference, and the officer at the port of entry asked me how long I intend to stay and I told him 4 days, he said how about I stamp for you two weeks, you never know what might happen, I said hey I am here for a few days only I already have my return ticket and I have kids waiting for me back home. but still this is the first I am asked such a question.

Thank you very much for sharing, i m willing to visit my sister in USA and i will apply also via Beirut office so could you please tell me about the interview with consular....is it so hard? type of questions?what would you advise?

Another question, is the officer in the entry port has the permission to determine how long you will stay in USA ?
he wants to stamp for 2 weeks...why he is insisting to do this?
Even if he did and you stay for month..where is the problem ?

I have finally received my CSQ after 3 years of waiting. Now i enter this topic to find familiar faces that used to help me in the previous topic Ex :Ricona . Now i just need to submit my federal file and start the waiting game again but i am happy to have you guys to lift my mood every time i am fed-up from waiting.
at the moment i am collecting the police clearance from all the countries i lived in. and since i was a free bird and lived in 4 different countries it is not an easy task at all :S.

I will keep you posted once i have any news and get ready for my questions once i start filling in my federal application

Heyyyyy congrats, welcome to board ! Send ur federal as soon as possible, and u'll not wait as long us us, ur file won t have to sleep somewhere before to be proceeded as happen with our files, now should take one more year for u ! Best of luck

No need. The only updates you can inform them about are the marital status or change of address(mailing or residential)... They won't care about anything else...

they said the translator should be a member of the OTTIAQ !! even for the ones outside Quebec so what did you do?

I sent my application to CIC in Sydney including the CSQ but excluding some of the Police Clearances as I had to collect from 6 countries (which is a project by itself). The file was received on November 9... In about a week's time, I will have the complete set of police clearances required.

Should I send these to the CIC office in Sydney or keep them with me till the Embassy in Abu Dhabi request them?

police certificates are required b4 you do meds, even no time now to send it, youll get ur file number within 2-3 weeks.
I don't know how youll update them, if your contacted from abu dhabi embassy this will delay your meds 4-5 months.

even you security check will take ages :s they must check every country where you stayed, they will send request and wait replies from each country.
